I recently read a podcast transcript from James Shramko where he says he wouldn't ever do affiliate marketing again because the only time he ran a campaign it was the same time he went on vacation so he didn't check on his mail for a couple of days and when he opened his inbox it was filled with all these charges from credit card companies asking for money back because stolen credit cards were used to buy his products, but still he had to pay the affiliate website comissions... ???
does that happen a lot or with any affiliate website?

    YES.

There's a LOT of fraud that goes on in affiliate marketing. Best have systems in place.

Any half decent affiliate product has a good fraud screening into place, never heard of affiliates getting charged because they sent bad traffic, you'll get your account shut down in no time but getting billed for the fraud is BS, plus "super affiliates" are always checking their stats and emails ;)
