Just wondering if there are any particular tactics to use when trying to move a single high competition keyword. Just as an example, say "sex". Obviously quite difficult to rank for, and also as anchor diversity is very important these days, just wondering the best way to go about ranking a single term like this?? Note:thtas not the keyword I am actually trying to rank for, its just an example
Get a high quality back link service. Also examine the kind of links your close competitor uses and try to emulate the same thing too.. Above all, time matters most when it comes to ranking a highly competitive keyword. Good luck.
^^Thanks John. I normally use text-link-ads for backlinks when I'm going for quality (Aff - http://www.text-link-ads.com/?ref=194335 ) But what I really mean is are the tactics different when its a single keyword? I only ask because I while back I was trying to rank for "investing" which is quite competitive term, but when I analyzed competitors backlinks, no-one really had it as their anchor text. Wondering if I should be using a variety of longtail keywords that all contain my target keyword for my anchor text? That way I have constant diversity.?
Good topic. I'm no expert, but maybe try to optimize your site and backlinks more for semantic keywords. Seems like right now, for me at least, de-optimization using longtail semantic keywords has been working pretty good. Lately, I'm seeing my SERP's picking up on these related keywords more and more.
