As we all know marketing online begins with knowing what to target....I know basic keyword research and SEO concepts and have a few tools but I need to know more.

In your opinion, what are the best courses out there that teach this material?

Free, paid....whatever....I just need to get my shit together.

I would suggest anything from Howie Schwartz. Most of his teaching is focused on keywords buyers are using, not just picking any keyword that has thousands of searches with low competition. You can get a feel for his style here with his free video:

    Code:

Skip the 1st 5 minutes to get past the ad tacked on the front of the video.

He has lots of free videos which contain the same info as his paid courses, the difference between the paid course and free videos is that he offers automation tools and a few more secrets in the paid training. But as far as keyword research goes, he gives that out for free in his free videos.

Here are more videos he gave away on ustream:

There is no need for courses. There are plenty of resources on the net to help you with SEO. Follow industry leaders on twitter and read their blogs. Forums such as BHW and DP are also very useful if you want some techniques that are slightly grey.

Well, I guess I am looking for quality information regarding comparing one niche to another using keyword data....and then taking that data and beginning a campaign via SEO.

I read the forums about the tricks all the time...but I am looking for a base level understanding of the best way to interpret the numbers.

Keywords with quotes, without quotes, long tail, high number of search results vs. lower numbers....etc..

Not really looking for a definition of PR or increasing it via off-page strategies like blog posts and such. I see all that and I get it.

What I am curious about is the individual pages themselves. Keyword density, linked text, image names, site layout, directory structure. When I make 100 blogs pointing back to my money site, what should the blog pages consist of, do I focus on one keyword per blog or one keyword per page/post?

I am looking for base level TACTICS from niche research and keyword selection to page optimization and site structure from an SEO point of view.

    Thanks.

You can get a bunch of decent "free" courses here in the members download section. But before you get into that stuff, I highly suggest you check out a guy named Griz. He cuts thru all the BS and is a straight shooter.

He primarily uses free platforms such as blogger for all his money pages and outranks everyone. Do some serious reading through his blogs, take it all in and read them again. He is a wealth of information.

Just do a search on google for "griz make money online" You won't regret it.
