To be honest, paid software trumps on free stuff 99% of the time. At least with paid stuff the developer is more inclined to keep their stuff updated.

Remember that seo submission tools are only as good as the sites used by them and if one makes a change it will mean the developer of the tool will need to bring out an update. This kind of dedication does not usually come with free applications.

I wouln't go free.. use Fiverr ($5 each) for EDU, scrapebox, xrumer, SENuke, Social bookmarking links. Let others spend big $$$ on software, and lots of their own time using it.

Yeah if you're on a budget, go with Fiverr. There are some people seriously undervaluing their services there. If you can't afford $5, I would suggest you do something short term to build up some capital to invest in the long term.

    can't post links but...

    - bulkping dot com has a free RSS feed generator and submitter. You can create and submit a feed in 30 seconds right from their site.
    - IMtalk dot org has a valuation submitter for indexing, rss feed submitter, and a semi-automated directory submitter.
    - socialmonkee has 25 free of the crappiest bookmarks you'll ever see.

These are mostly good just for indexing 2nd tier backlinks.

Mostly Free tools are not worthy. They indirectly push you to buy their premium version or membership. So buy some good premium tools and start your IM. :)
