I know there are some really scary movies that come out of Asia, but I don't want to read subtitles. Are there any really good, shit your pants, don't sleep for days scary American movies? I watched The Haunting in Connecticut last night and I wasn't too impressed.

If you want one that will make you keep jumping out of your seat, then I suggest Candyman. That damn movie had me jumping all over the place.

To me the scariest movies are the psycholigical "this could really happen to you" ones. Not the Friday the 13th, Freddy, etc.

The original Texas Chainsaw scared the crap out of me when I first saw it, it is so fucking creepy. House of 1000 corpses creeped me out also. One that bugged me, I didn't really like it but it got to me was Wolf Creek.

If you want to be completely grossed out and scared about REAL death rent the Faces of Death series 1-4. Some seriously fucked up shit in those movies.

I know you don't want the Japanese movies...I haven't seen this one yet because I am too afraid! It is in Japanese with English subtitles...it is called Audition.

The Descent, Dog Soldiers, both are pretty scary and fun. Drag me to hell when it comes out on DVD, hopefully soon. Always like The Exorcist, The Ring and Scream, that's my list!

When it comes to the film Audition, I will say this be afraid be very afraid, I do not get scared of films, but this one did it, imagine afterwards you in a room full of girls one them could be the girl, I did it and it scared the s**t out of me. As for english films I can't suggest any as none of them have scared me enough that I can't sleep or anything.

The original Texas Chainsaw... good choice, cant think of any other movie where the dude wears a mask thats scary. How about The blaire witch project and Pyscho. There was this one old movie i could never place it had a scene where this guy covers this person in cement and then starts drilling holes and stuff... anyways very scary stuff.
