We've already got SEO traffic but need more traffic than that...

What else is there besides posting Youtube videos and Facebook/Twitter? What are some free ways of getting a bit of extra traffic?

    Traffic... or conversions?

That's what you need to ask yourself. Do you actually want those visits to result in sales? Of course you do!

You're going to need to start searching for car websites, forums, social media groups (fan pages for popular cars (for example let's say Car X) work fantastically I've found if you get the admin to link directly to the car page).

Make sure that you have good, strong landing pages that makes visitors want to actually purchase the car (this is usually a "Quote" form for the auto industry) and not some basic website.

That's what has worked well with past dealerships. :)

Thanks for the advice; it was very helpful. I've already been posting in forums (many don't allow sigs though) and doing comments on car blogs etc for SEO purposes. However, I haven't tried emailing owner of car specific pages; that's a great idea :)

    Thanks

Onthegoaudio; yes, U.S. Many car dealers; I can't send url's. Ones that are well known though, regular official car dealer websites (located in big cities etc) with inventory pages.

Any other way without selling specific cars? We just want to get traffic to the main page; not necessarily send traffic to the actual detailed model pages; just an increase in overall traffic

What type of dealership: Franchise, Independant or dirt lot? There are many ways to get real customers accross your dealership website.
