Hello i'm french so I used chatgpt to traduce my initial text tell me if you didn't understood something.

I started dropshipping in 2020, and since then, I've only had one successful product that lasted 3-4 months on Facebook in 2021, and another successful product that also lasted 3-4 months on TikTok, totaling €70,000 in revenue. Since my last successful product on TikTok, I've conducted between 75-100 tests without finding another winner. Throughout my dropshipping journey, I estimate I've lost between €2,000 and €3,000. While not a significant amount, what I regret the most is the considerable amount of time I've invested over these four years. I lived, breathed, and slept dropshipping.

After trying various strategies and product styles (problem/solution for Facebook, customizable for TikTok), as well as experimenting with different acquisition channels (Snapchat, Pinterest, though I still believe Facebook is the best), I've concluded that I'm not succeeding, and I'm considering quitting dropshipping before I lose more money.

Dropshipping remains, in my opinion, the number one online business model due to its accessibility and scalability, but I haven't been able to make it work.

Nevertheless, I'd like to leverage the knowledge I've gained from my dropshipping experience (using Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, Shopify, etc.) to launch another online business, preferably one that's as scalable as dropshipping. I'm considering perhaps starting a dark kitchen and driving traffic through Facebook (CPM tends to be low when the objective is traffic). This is something I believe I could do and find scalable enough.

I would appreciate your thoughts, advice, and criticisms regarding all of this. Thank you in advance.

It could feel like it's a loss, but you've learned valuable skills and you can apply to other things. Dark kitchen, is it that scalable? you are limited to an area and your stocks?

Every entrepreneur faces setbacks. What’s important is that you learn from them and keep moving forward

Best of luck with your new venture, Mate!

Yep it's limited to an area and stocks but if you are in a big city (for france like Paris Marseille etc) You can do that from your home so it's easily scalable

What you could do is launch that and once you have enough data to what people like, you could test products like for example "couple" packs or any twist like that. it could allow you to test what works, then launch a box business on same products too

Yep exactly I'll have to test it first and see what my cost per acquisition is and try to optimise it all.

A dark kitchen is a fully-equipped commercial kitchen specialising in producing food exclusively for delivery, without dining areas or customer seating (like shipping food from home)
We call them cloud kitchen here in India. Many people are earning more than a job in metro cities in India. Some even earn 1-2 Lakhs Rs. per month which is very good income in India

Exactly it's very interesting and as I said I just have to optimise my cost per acquisition and I can be profitable

Dropshipping is actually still a viable online business but it is dependent on many factors for it to work which include the popularity of the product and targeting your audience in social media campaigns. But at the end of the day, what you need is increased traffic and awareness to your product and employing SEO tactics should really help with getting more customers to your dropshipping site/platform.

Hey, how are you?

I know how it is, I made a lot of money with dropshipping, for about 3 years, but the metrics started to increase and it became unfeasible. I tested some other products, but the whole operation demands a lot of "sacrifice" for little return. The average profit from a dropshipping operation is 15-20%. Which is very little compared to all the effort that goes into finding products, creating sales pages, creating artwork and copy, creating ads, placing orders, dealing with exchanges and returns, dealing with customers, after-sales, etc.

I started working as an affiliate, selling mainly in the United States.

If you find this interesting, we can talk more about it. I have a lot of spy tools that can help you find good products that scale, as well as being able to see creatives and sales pages.

Hmu if you find it interesting and we can talk more about it.

Cheers
