The owner of the TapouT MMA clothing line died this morning when his ultra-rare $300,000 Ferrari crashed into a light pole, ripping the car in half. Charles Lewis Jr. -- aka "Mask" -- was driving his Ferrari Modena in Orange County, Calif. around 1:00 AM this morning when cops say it "left the roadway, hit the curb, took out a light pole."

"Mask" was declared dead at the scene. A female passenger -- who was ejected from the crash -- was taken to a local hospital, but we're told she's in bad shape.

Cops believe "Mask" was racing a guy in a Porsche at the time of the crash, and authorities have since arrested the guy they believe was driving the other car. That man -- Jeffrey David Kirby -- is being held on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter.

All that money and still no brain

Holy shit. So are the cops saying that because you engage in a street race with someone and they die then you are responsible? Or the dude in the Porsche "ran" him off the road?

Either way, like you said, all the money in the world won't buy you brains, or common sense or another shot at life.

I have seen a lot of people with smashed faces every festival in the OR and I always wish I could bring our young to see these people. You'll likely be prudent for a long time after you see these "broken" and sometimes "faceless" people.

Yep, if you street race and the other guy dies, an onlooker dies, etc, you get jacked for manslaughter which is bullshit, the other guy should have been a better driver :)

Seriously street racing is miserable. I used to race in my late teens and early 20's and had a few close calls myself.

We at least raced on deserted straightaways, if you race on residential streets you are an assclown, anything can happen on public streets and driving skill will do nothing for you at 180 mph.

A lot of people get caught up in dangerous situations when they achieve financial success. Well a lot of men I should say. When cars houses and women are easy, life becomes very sad very quick and extreme sports and adrenaline become a temporary fill for the void.

I was never a big fan of the show but caught a number of episodes and as time progressed, I think his make-up got slightly more feminine.

Well, one more person including that internet millionaire dying at 24 in these high end cars. Guess when I hit it millionaire style, I'm driving a tank.

Joking aside, I did think Mask did a lot of good for the fighters (unknown's) he would take and showcase on his show. I always thought at least on TV he was an overall nice dude. Sucks he had to go.

    RIP

Yeah, we should all just ride in nice big slow limos when we get the big bucks lol

Postings like this seem to be the new theme here at BHW...just a reminder not to get too wild and stupid when money, sex, and drugs are so easy to get.

    Nevarc speaks wisely.

A stale organic cage. Incarceration. I'm in the stranger, me.
The user of my face; beneath its guise I rot. A paradox in terms.
Interconnected, fused. My words are its thoughts. I now share my self with my reflection. Straining to divide our twined formation. Duality within singularity.

Use to do that stuff when I was a 'youngin' flying through the mountains. Had a few close calls drifting on the curves. Instilled the fear of the lord into a lot of passengers. Looking back, I was really lucky. I feel really bad for him and the kid that was racing because you never think your going to be the one who wrecks until it happens. I just hope thet don't keep those charges against the other kid because it was probably not his fault and may even have been a good friend of his.

Any way to die is horrible. Hopefully soon we won't have to for a couple of hundred years. ;)
