best strategy is to get a few web 2.0 sites that point to your money page. blast those properties with scrapebox. you should be golden ;p

I use SB extensively and I have not (by itself) been able to rank first page with ONLY SB for a competitive keyword... however, it is a HUGE help. I wouldn't be without it!

Others may have a different experience. I find a combination of SB, profile creations (xrumer), and then a nice dose of High PR DF manually posted blog comments seems to do the trick, if I had to give my general "formula".

I don't understand why it's better to build your own web 2.0 sites and build back links to those sites as apposed to just finding high pr sites and linking directly to ur money page. Its'nt that same thing?

So basically u are creating 1 backlink for yourself for each web 2.0 u build. That's seems like a collasol waste of time.

apparently not a waste of time because many give this advice, but those that find it useful keep on doing it:D

I know I'm missing something because web 2.0 building is seo 101, just hoping someone can chime in and explain it's relevance

    I agree

With one of my test sites right now, we have went to top 5 rankings for the keywords we are trying to target, Using SB, Manually Posting to DF, Social Bookmarking,

SB alone is a great tool, but coupled with other tools, you are unstoppable

Edit : I still like to learn to use Xrumer, or even get a copy for that matter :)

On those web 2.0 sites you make, you have a whole page worth of your own relevant content.... you don't get that on high PR blog comments as easily.

So even though it's a PR 0 link technically, it will be weighted higher because of content on that page.

With that logic I should be able to just harvest PR6 blogs that are in my niche and contain my keywords. That is equivalent or better then creating a PR 0 site from scratch??

I did and still am number 1 but I don't use SB for it anymore. Been at number 1 for more than a month.

Ok, so there are plenty of people on this thread saying they are on p.1 of Google with SB, but how competitive was your niche? How many backlinks did the #1 listing have? How many pages show up with an "All In Title" and "In URL" search? You get the idea. My dog could rank on p.1 of Google for the right niche with SB...

Contextual links are better than blog comment links. If it were that easy to rank using blog comments nobody would bother with web 2.0 sites.

To answer the original question, I can rank for long chain keywords that are not all that competitive without much problem using SB alone. The more competitive it gets the more link diversity you will need.

Keep it low, 3k searches a month and less than 50k in quotes. Do your market research properly(analyze the competition, don´t shoot blindly!) and sb will guarantee you first page, IF you know what you´re doing, obviously.

There´s plenty of info on SB usage in here, but it all comes down to personal experience and tweaking and testing and testing again.

I personally combine Sb blasts with candi mininets(buy it here). Almost always rakes me 1st spot within 1 month or so. Not only I promote the main site with scrapebox, I also promote the whole mininet. It´s as Jericho says, link diversity plays a huge role.

There you have it, the gold.

Most wordpress blogs are no follow, so it will only help you for yahoo and bing, not so much google.

What web 2.0 sites would you recommend? Do you have any specific examples of this? I think I got it, still learning, but you mean build a squi*doo lens for example? How do you point it to your money page? Just a link? Sorry for the noob Q's , SEO is a confusing beast I am trying to wrap my head around

Anyone recommend a good SB service provider for people like me who don't have the time (and maybe the patience or skills) to learn SB?
