I have just altered a pr3 site without any loss of rank to include new keywords, the site is 4 years old. I am building backlinks about 100 a week. I also have a site 3 weeks old on a similar theme with no backlinks coming higher for those keywords. I know new sites drop down after a while but I may as well build the links for that site now. As in the title I am well p^%sed off!
