Yep, marketing stunt to get people hyped up about it.
Just like someone leaked a certain episode from season 1 of Game Of Thrones 2 days before it was on TV. The story was that the episode was available at HBO GO but only "selected" few were able to view it, kinda like a tv show beta acces lol.
That episode was the most viewed episode in all the series (forgot the numbers). Why? Because those who watched it only from torrents filled up the internet with buzz, so when the time came for it to be on TV, people were glued to the couches.
An anonymous executive at Warner Bros. admitted to purposefully leaking torrents of the upcoming ABC sitcom "Pushing Daises" to create excitement about the show.
With all the piracy buzz surrounding torrents and copyright law, you can't help but play the hypocrisy card on this one.
An unusually large number of pre-air TV shows have been appearing on BitTorrent sites months and, in some cases, several months before their scheduled air dates. Many of those leaks appear to be inside jobs, and TV executives are starting to realise that leaking shows to BitTorrent can help promote them.
