I made a recent post about putting a movie site up, need mind you my website was just collecting dust and my cpa earnings were as low as you can imagine. Thing is, im shitting my pants right now....I linked my movies to a site thats not hosted by me, odds of me getting in trouble?? Technically im not doing anything but when the user fills out a survey they go to the movie site for a, download and watch kinda thing. So I ask again, real odds of getting in trouble? I only have one movie linked so far, baby steps, lol. if you want heres the site,
    HTML:
    www.modernbloging.com
not the best name for a movie site but whatever, any thoughts?? keep going and try to get a money train goin?? or does anybody think this is just saturated by now?:(:listen:

There is no need to blank etc, i'm guessing you are one of the masses of people with movie sites + CPAL**d

You can link all day and you should be fine, just respond to DMCAs if you get them with your disclaimer or go offshore and not worry about them.

The big thing with "movie sites" and any other site, is TRAFFIC, without it you could have all the new movies in HD and no one would know about them. Focus on how you will get traffic before you waste a bunch of time making a site no one will visit.

And if you are serious about making a movie site, spend the 8.81 and get a better domain name.

so what your saying is just go offshore?? bc I dont want to have to deal with getting notices about this movie and that one stating to take this movie down or else! idk, I mean are the odds of getting caught like nothing when I go offshore?, I mean, I look around the internet and I see quiete a bit of this movie sharing business and wonder if these people are even getting in trouble at all for it. I see @ the marketplace over at CPA+LE4D that theres like tons of products and what not pretty much saying to get into this kinda thing! but then I still wonder, are the risks that bad??....cuz if I can monetize this right, i'll be seeing a lot of this $$ but wat to do..:(

If the movie itself is not hosted on your server, you have nothing to worry about. You can post links to downloads all day long, as long as you dont host the files on your server.

kickflip - as much as i'd like to believe this is true - even linking to external sources (like a rapidshare file etc) can still get pages shut down. Happens a lot on blogspot. If you're hosting your own server, you can ignore takedown notices, but it's a grey area.. One that the studios will pursue if they think they can crush you.

    1. Linking to movies that are not hosted by you still counts as contributory infringement. Monetary fines and jail time have been awarded for this kind of thing.

    2. Moving offshore doesn't solve one little problem; Companies can easily grab your cpal3@d info and send a notice to them requesting your information, which will most likely be granted. If you can get around this issue, great, I haven't found a way yet.

    1. Odds of that actually happening??..........

    2. How in gods name would they find me?...its not like anything is advertised anywhere out in the blue! Im not to good with coding but I think it'd be pretty hard to find my cpa l34d affiliate link, no?

imo i think cl is kind of a waste of time, i mean, people go on there for different services and what have you, not to get random emails or watever asking to fill out a survey for an iPod or watever, I have yet to see some good actual legit proof of some good conversions of ppl that scaled the cl thing to a large scale, or small, watever. seriously...

    1. Small. If you're getting under a few thousand visitors a day then very small. I'm just pointing out the fact that it's possible and it is, technically, a punishable offense. You got to make the call on whether to pursue or not though and take the risk.

    2. No it's not... It's easy to get your CL I.D if the person knows what they're doing.

This is illegal and immoral but quite impossible to catch unless you pass 1k visitors a day.

I recommend using an anonymous host and domain registrar that way there's less trace

honestly, i dont think its illegal. Im NOT hosting the content. im simply having people go to a website thats NOT hosted by me where they can watch the movie, tons of ppl do this, and everybody knows that. and if they dont have an ounce of patience, theere probably not even gonna complete the survey so really the ppl arent even gonna be watching the content to begin with! i just pocket the money;) im probably gonna look into anonymous hosting in a day or two so watever, I dont plan on getting over 1k a day anytime soon anyway
