Hey Guys,

I just came through an amazing technique (yes, it's great and weird). It's pretty 'Blackhat'.

What you need for this?

1) Affiliate Account at TDNAM (godaddy's website). You can join them through CJ.com.

2) Ability to search WHOIS database, and ebay account (optional).

This technique is very simple and powerful.

What you have to do is to look for 'Domain Auction' on ebay.com. Like the one going now:-

3) Now go through the domain auctions and look for domain with either ONE bid or NO bid (it should be on the last day of that particular auction)

4) Check that seller should not have more then 5-10 feedbacks, which shows he is new to the auction world.

5) Now, you have got your target, simply email that partcular seller like this:-

************************************************

Dear XYZ,

We are the professional domain collector company and we found your XYZ.com (*the domain going in auction*) to be the perfect domain to buy. Please provide us with the desired domain price so that we can finalize our decision of buying your domain name.

Regards,
ABC,
ABC company, Inc

in 97% cases you will receive the reply of your email in 2-3 days, with the desired price of seller.

Now, after you have received his domain price, compose a new email:-

Dear XYZ seller,

Thanks for your email.

We found that the domain price demanded by you is appropriate however due to our company policy, we need to have the correct appraisal of domain, so that we can create the record of domain in our database. You need to get it appraised from:-

{YOUR GODADDY AFFILIATE LINK TO TDM}

Please note, the appraisal value of the domain by registrar does not affect our deal and we will pay you the 'decided' price of domain.

Upon appraisal your domain will get a 'appraisal' certificate by the registrar company, please forward us the 'link' of the certificate so that we can finalize the deal.

It may take few days for formalities to be completed at our office, after you provide us with the appraisal certificate.

If you have any question, please feel free to email us.

Thanks,
ABC,
ABC company, Inc

*********************************************************

I won't say everyone will take the offer, however it will have very high acceptance ration and you will make 20% per sale for domain name appraisal.

Please note i have not tested this method personally however heard very good things about it.

If seller is not replying for your first email, then try to contact to the email as in WHOIS database.

It may take additional contacts from seller, but i am sure you know what to do :p

Also, it's completely ZERO investment technique, do it with 10-20 sellers everyday for better response.

For more information about GODADDY.com affiliate program, check at:-

http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/affiliates/landing.asp?ci=8927

(it's not the affiliate link:D )

That's all

Thanks.

Thank you my friend, might have to check this one out!

One downfall is it may be too much work for only $3. The domain appraisal is $15 and 20% of that is only the $3. If I did 20 in a day I would have to convert all of them for $60 a day. Your method is sound but maybe there are companies out there that pay more for referring domain appraisals?

Ofcourse man, there are more companies which pay better for approval. Secondly, when he gonna buy appraisal, GoDaddy will offer him more 'upsell'.....so, it will also go to you..and if you do it with 20 different sellers, i am sure you can easily make $30-$50 in no time...

Cool, Cool, Cool. After they reply with the email, you just roll on? I like this a lot, simple, to the point. Thanks man:biggthump

It is a well known tactic, there are people complaining about it on dp all the time. Not sure how many will still buy it. The original version is this:

-You get email contact data from whois-use a bot to extract those
-You send them an email stating your a company and you are interested in buying their domain
-You either offer them a very good price- several thousands- or you let them choose the price and you agree to them
-You send them to the affiliate link for appraisal

etc...etc...

I think it has merit but the email response kind of sound like a Nigerian scam. I would see through this right away. But like you said, newbies probably wouldn't know the difference.

ITs an interesting idea, however, finding a target market for this sort of thing would be hard. There are not exactly a host a newbies selling domains on Ebay... seems like too much time search, waiting, getting ignored. There are surely ways to be more efficient with your time.

Sounds like a great method for people with no money and a lot of time. Thanks for sharing...

The concept is quite clever, social engineering at it's best; for a $3 profit though, a similar technique could probably be applied elsewhere. :)

Hey
Glad I saw this I was a victum once:(. Didn't bite thought but spent a lot of time looking for a free appraisal co that gave certificate.

The perils of being new to the game.

Thanks for the share though
Cheers

The old appraisal scam. People get an email when they register a new domain and they do not have other domains. It is well organized, and many people do know about it.

More about that, people would complain to Godaddy.

The other people use their own appraisal service, which makes conversions lower.

Anyway, too blackhat for me, too small amount of moeny

Never heard about this method. Though like others have said, too much work for little.

Its not a bad idea but you have to have no idea what your doing not to recognize it. It happened to me, but i never fell for it, just told the guy to f*** off. Although I guess I am a internet marketer myself, and am more likely to recognize this kind of thing.

Hey Guys,

Actually, i didn't get this method from anywhere else, i know this because i am the victim, it happened to me almost 7 months before when i started selling domain on ebay.com, after reading domainsintodollar ebook. And if it is done in right way with some 'professionalism' in emails, it can be done. Even if you contact 20 sellers, it won't take more then 1 hr as everything is copy/paste.

This scam has been going on for a few years. Your twist is the godaddy affiliate program, but some problems you will have is your CJ account, ebay account, and email account will all be put in jeopardy. People get pissed about this shit and complain to everyone. Only the newest of the newest online fall for this trick. It's very well known.

There is one guy or company uses a toughguy.net email claims to be a doctor at times that has been doing this for years. He hits everyone. He's the guy that uses his own appraisal service. I wouldn't be surprised if there were hits out on him.

The value of a domain is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it ! Until you have the cash, it is only worth what you paid to register it.

I bet only a small fraction of even noobs would fall for this.

why not just spend an hour making a domain appraisal site yourself and then keep all the money instead of just a commision from the people you just hustled
