I've been struggling with this for about 7 days now.

I use the Shezbloggin method, and it's been doing alright, as far as adsense and amazon go. I have 8 autoblogs, and really only 2 are keeping it going.

I've sold about 50 items on amazon and they just keep rolling in daily. (or they did)

    Anyway....

FYI - I'm using my adsense reports for numbers, here.

I have a site that's been doing pretty well. It started off getting 45hits on day 1, and over the last 2 months, its been growing very nicely. It's finally gotten up to about 250 hits a day on its own. I've been making a little from Adsense and alot more off Amazon, until 7 days ago.

Like I said, I was going from 250 hits a day to:

    7days ago: 69
    6days ago: 11
    5days ago: 17
    4days ago: 28
    3days ago: 17
    2days ago: 6
    1day ago: 5

I've used Google to search for my site, thinking it was sandboxed or de-listed, and it comes right up, and brings over 1,100 results.

I also checked my "statpress" plugin on my sites and they also reflect the drop. Also checked my amazon "Daily Trends" and they REALLY Dropped.

I thought maybe someone hacked my site and changed the Adsense code, but no, it's still mine.

Anyone have ANY idea what this could be?

    -------

    Re-cap:

Had a site with 250 hits a day fall to about 10 a day. Still show up on google search, sites are still up, no errors in error code.

maybe before it had some hot/trendy topics that were cool a month ago but not now, or that perhaps some other site that was hot linked to one of your posts and now it's no longer on their front page.

It's still a pretty big topic, and only getting bigger by the day.

this is very simple... lets say you were on page one for some keywords and now you are on page 2.... which will obviously result in less traffic.

If it makes you feel any better, you are not alone:

I have seen 3 of my blogs die on the vine so to speak over the last week. These blogs were getting well over 100 UV a day now they get 15 at best. I have 5 remaining 100 plus UV a day but I'm certain their time is coming too.

I know "hot" kewords will cause a huge spike in traffic but I can't explain why a blog with steady UVs for a period of time suddenly tanks.

At this point I'm just holding tight to see what happens.

Google recently rolled out caffine ... It apparently (i am only going by hearsay) aims at reducing auto-blog spam. It may be that your pages have been moved off page 1 on google due to the new algorithms being used (i believe Dupe content is now being included as a factor). It only came in fully within the last few weeks.

So I should get a plugin that removes duplicated content?

I started allowing dupe content because wprobot ran out of products to post on my sites, so they just sat there for a month with no traffic. Once I allowed the dupe content, the sites went crazy in traffic again.

So it makes me wonder, is there a plugin that removes posts old then X amount of days?

That might be useful also, so it can kind of circulate the posts.

Make sure you ARE NOT logged into google when checking your SERP's. The SERP's will show up different if you're logged into your google account because it will focus on websites that they think you want to see on the top of the listing.
