Hi Guys so here's an ugly situation :(

I bought a domain few months back.. at the time of initial research I didn't find any backlinks of any sort. Now that I have setup a small site and added the domain to Google webmaster tools I keep getting Crawl errors.

The crawl errors are all weird pages with this domain name and the funny thing is the page is getting linked by another non-existing page on my site. Loading both urls give 404 page not found errors.

For example: URL shown in GWT is "example.com/search.php?california-btb"
when I click on "Linked from" it shows "example.com/article/how-greece-defeated-us.html

None of these files or data is in my server/site!

So what is going on? How do I solve this? Need help!

    Was the domain previously registered?

Google takes a VERY long time to realize that a page is actually dead, imho. I have noticed them crawling some old domains I own for years after they have gone offline.

Recently I faced the same situation.
someone injected the code and it generates 400 more pages and everyurl produces 404 errors in my GWT.

Check for any malicious code script.

check your logs to find the ip doing this to you.
Get the exact date and time of ytour 404's.
The block it in your htaccess.
Or ask your host to block it
