Weird gmb ranking

EDIT: Doesnt show up in the incognito, i guess google shows me his company so high because i live so close...?






So there is this one map listing that ranks higher than an university in my town with population of 30k people.

I'm trying to understand why the hell they would rank his company so high in the maps, he is single person, his company name is his name, its unclaimed and has about 6 citations online. There is literally nothing that should rank him over everything else, he shows up together with official town buildings... wtf?

No pictures
Private house
Litteraly nothing is filled out except his phone nr

Location matters for sure, they always tend to show you the nearest businesses around, try with other device and IP and see what it shows.

Still you'd be surprised how bad do schools and other official buildings on GMB. Even if it has only 6 citations, it might be more than what the university has.
Based on the population you have mentioned, doubt that university will have lots of students or any kind of exposure out of your town.

My first guess would be proximity of where you did the search. have you done a GMB rank audit or just a G search?
