What have you accomplished this week?

My biggest hit of the week was a viral blog post on a client's blog. We got about 100 shares in a town of ~5000 people. The mayor of the county (~75k people) shared our post, etc.

It's Canada day here, so I'm off to a 2-day country concert with a pack of people, so full-time work will resume Sunday/Monday. However, all the staff are delegated and know what they need to do.

Love these threads you are making!

This week I've landed myself a investor that will invest in a business venture I am starting with affiliate sites. I have also started working on my first ever commissioned movie, it's coming along nicely and I will receive a paycheck next week once it is finished, looking forward to that (will most likely donate it, I took the gig because it sounded like great fun). Then I have continue to plan my upcoming ventures and decided to go full in and investing above my budgeted expenses for this month. A lot of decisions made this week to sum it up.

I've also interviewed Ste, that's probably the biggest achievement this week haha :)

I like hearing what people are up to. I need to record my accomplishments so I can remember by the end of the week because I get so caught up in progress that I forget about everything once it's done.

Neat, how'd you meet the investor?

Hahahah did you really interview him?

One of the busiest weeks I've had in a while.

Got two good potential jobs today, and finally got paid the deposit for another job I've been discussing with a client for weeks.

Had to pay off a huge internet bill yesterday, I used up my bandwidth 3 or 4 times the month before, and had to purchase additional data every time.

A fellow web design company I occasionally work with mentioned several potentially hacked websites of theirs that need securing, which is always good work for me too, so I'm holding thumbs for that.

I was supposed to be moving to a new (better) part of the country today, but I've had to delay for a week, which I'm not too happy about.

    Overall, a good week.

That's great! I should do that more often. I have like 12 projects that are on-going so remembering everything is hard without tracking. Will start a "what I've accomplished" note in my notebook and post them here every week. It seems like fun.

Met the investor via contacts (networking is key to everything) and he is interested but don't have the time with affiliate sites himself, so I offered to run them if he finances them. Now I get a few grand per month to build 3 new sites per month as well as invest into roughly 100 PBNs per month towards the sites. I get 60% of profits.

Yeah, I have a bi-weekly series on my blog where I interview people. So I am trying to maintain that to stay as my consistent content on my blog while I try to make a few guides here and there. :)

Launched my first BST on Tuesday! It's a great change of pace from my usual process building affiliate sites and doing SEO. Helps that they are so different so it's no problem to manage both of them.

Got off to a slow start early in the week. Trying to put together an event for a client and things didn't seem to be clicking. By yesterday and today things are starting to finally gel. I made shit ton of great new contacts as well and I think I may have found my first VA that will help me a great deal in the weeks ahead.

At long last, after a year and a half of battle, I finally did the impossible.

I finally fixed all of the leaks on my 30 year old car...

That was what I accomplished this week.

Hell, I do not know. Put new shocks and struts in my car. Now the tow kit does not drag the ground on bumps. Not hard to do, but it is time consuming and sometimes frustrating. In my grounds keeping business, just normal work. But it is the time of the month I hate the most - time to draw up invoices and email them. Because I have Dept. of Agriculture and EPA controlled pesticide licenses I have to track every milliliter of pesticide, herbicide, and fertilizer that I use. I used a lot over the last week, just that time of the year when I spray. So I have to go back through my records and track the chemicals and itemize them on the invoice. A major hassle.

In the few free hours that I have and am not trolling the internet, reading news, or watching movies, I work on different programs. During the winter I program, but spring and summer I enjoy landscaping. At any rate, I have a large list of numbers with about 11,000,000 primary numbers with seven fields that contain other numbers for a total database of 77,000,000 numbers. for about a week I have been working on a program to sort those numbers and look for patterns in my free time. I had finally gotten the program to begin looking for patterns of pairs. After 25 hours of running the program, I had only gotten through about 260,000 lines of 11,000,000 lines of numbers. At that rate, it would take 44 days to get through the entire list. So today, while I was busy chasing behind lawn mowers, string trimmers, hedgers, and edgers, I thought about that program and how to speed it up.

I had built the program using Microsoft principles of carrying the information in a list of strings and comparing numbers in those strings. Then my computer science education took over and I began thinking about the overhead that it took for each comparison.
    If(String.Contains(number 1) && string.Contains(number 2){do_work()).
Well, I knew that this was slow.

Then when I got home, I rewrote the section to use an array after conversion from a string. I also wrote bench marking timers into the program so that I would know just how long it took to run 100 strings of numbers from the list. The first method took 49 seconds. The second method dropped that to 46 seconds. Both of those times were horribly unacceptable.

Well, I thought some more and my CS education kicked me in the butt. I changed (actually wrote a new version) that after reading in the 11 million lines of numbers, I then converted all those number strings to integer arrays and then began comparing them. I generally do not like to do this because that type of comparison is generally O(m*n). But it was a starting point. I then bench marked the new version of the program. instead of 46151 milliseconds to run through 100 strings of numbers, it only took 46 milliseconds for that list. This is a 1000 percent improvement. over the original two versions.

What does this have to do with SEO in general, and Blackhat SEO in particular. The quick answer is nothing. But in the depths, just like SEO and blackhat SEO you sometimes have to reframe the problem you are addressing, and more often than not you have to change your outlook as to how the problem is best solved.

This week was a learning week for me. Learned about finding EXPIRED DOMAIN(not that much) and listed my client business without getting a postcard. Bought group buy subscription for tracking competitor's backlinks. When i saw there is Domcop and Registercompas subscription so I thought to give it a try to find EXPIRED DOMAINs in my niche. Asked bhw members to what is avg metrics of a domain to build PBN, ofcourse few of bhw member helped me and clear my doubt(thanks to them). But still learning about ED....
For Postcard, I;ve listed my clients business on google more than 15 days ago and he didnt received the postcard from google. So i simply contact to google and told them its been more than 20 days i didn't received the post card from you. They get back me in a day or 2 and see what they said:

Yes, I started using a notebook as suggest by @BassTrackerBoats and it keeps me organized quite well. I have a general to-do list for everything IM then for my main project, I run a to-do list for that.

You should interview the OP of this thread, @hekke - he has accomplished a ton in a short period of time and would be a good interview as well as inspiration for many others.

I finally added new ads to my most trafficked pages. I hate doing ads. This took major focus effort. Now the rest of the site please and thank you.
