    Hi

Whats the best way to structure a url? I read a MOZ post which had researched this in depth but was 5 years old so I assume its not valid anymore.

In it they suggested along the lines of the following structure.

    Subdomain.brandname.com/category/subcategory/keyword-phrase

    So an example might be

    fruit.myfoodstore.com/healthy-foods/fruit-and-veg/advice-on-buying-apples.

Im wondering whether this is still suggested as a more recent post I found said moving their subdirectory to a subfolder so the url became myfoodstore.com/fruit/healthy-foods had a positive affect on rankings.

But is there a limit recommended amount of subfolders/categories?

Also does having the keyword in the URL have as effect?
