I have 2 month old website (actually new) and I've been stucked on Page 2 for almost last 30 days in low/medium competitive niche. I have been doing it only with SAPE. On Page SEO is good, I've got 15 sub-pages with 15 articles 600+ words each (every article for 1 keyword) with proper SILO architecture.

Last few days I started with building Web 2.0s and other backlinks to diversify my backlink profile and anchor texts, but I would like to push it to Page 1 with 301 redirect(s). So, I'm not sure exactly how it works with a kind of "protection". Some people recommend buying/building 301 redirects with Web 2.0s protection, but I am not sure how it works.

    I have two questions:

1.) Not sure that I understand how that layer of protection works. If there is another barrier between my site and the authority site, wouldn't that affect my ranking? Will I still get the same results using the Web 2.0s as a protection layers?

2.) How safe is it buying 301 redirects directly to money site? How many of them can I get without getting high chance of penalty?

Here is how layer of protection works, you build good web2.0 blogs which will have link back to your money site, now you will be buying links to these web 2.0 to pass link juice to your money site. Yes, effect will not be same when buying links to money site directly but this is safe way.

    1) So, how much results are weaker approximately by doing that safe way?
I am very skeptical about it, this ultimately looks like normal backlink that will not pass much juice.

    2) How risky is building 301 redirects directly to money site? What is the chance of G penalty? (I am talking about 301 redirects from PR1+ websites that are not penalized)

    3) Is there a possibility that I build backlinks to website that 301 redirects to my money site? Would it be good?

The 301 redirects are heading straight to your money sites (risky) It would pass a penalty straight onto the money site..

Like a couple of others have pointed out the much safer way of doing this is through a web 2.0 ( worst case the web 2.0 gets trashed )

I know that many people are using 301 to Web 2.0, but if it is passing much less juice than directly to money site, I see it as a big waste of money. But yea, safety is what costs a lot in this case.

Yes, I am using SAPE directly to money site, but I know with it very well so no chance of penalty.

You are using SAPE directly to money site, but no chance of penalty? You must know something we don't know...

301 redirects to your main site are not safe IMO. Be a little patient mate. SEO is not instant. You need to wait.

There is always a chance of penalty, but I know exactly what I am doing with SAPE so chances are really low. Believe me on word. SAPE I'm doing is only thing from Black Hat that is relatively safe.

So, you definitely recommend doing 301 redirect to Web 2.0s?

    Thanks for help.

301 redirect is very dangerous without a web 2.0, it's usually used for churn and burn sites.

Web 2.0 protection would reduce the link juice, but it's much safer.

301's are only as dangerous as the links they pass through. If I have a 301 from a clean pr5 domain that only has 5 or 6 backlinks pointing to it from other pr5,4,3,2 domains then that is a safe 301.

If I have a 301 from a pr5 domain that has 200+ links pointing to it then that's dangerous for your money site. You won't get the penalty from the 301, you'll get the penalty because the 301 passed on 200+ links straight to you money site and your site couldn't handle that. Point that same 301 to a bigger site and nothing will happen to it, it will actually help it.

I use 301s from 5 sites to my money site and the site moved up the SERPS and has pretty much stayed there for almost 9 months. As long as the site you are redirecting has no bad links, I think you are fine and will see a benefit but again, only if everything else stacks up on your site.

I second this. I have 2 blogs only last for 9 months or so with 301 redirection. But it's paid off.

i've been seeing the same thing actually. i think the sandbox kicks in on pages 2-5. i built almost 200 PR sape links for low-med comp niche and my pages debuted on page 4 at least for the money terms and have been dancing there for a month.

they seem to reach a brick wall at page 2 and 3 and wont go beyond. im not sure whether to wait it out or add more links. maybe ill do a 301. anyway keep us updated
