I'm curious to find out if there is a way that my website can be removed from being searched under keywords that are invalid on my website.

Here's the problem (to better explain what's going on):

Go to Google, type in "Synergy Check Services", my site is the first on the list.

Here's the issue - Nowhere on my website is there the word "Synergy" at all. We're "Synergetic" and yet we're getting tons of heat because people think we're a different company.

Is there a way to add something that removes us from that exact word getting searched?

(I'm still somewhat of a noob here, so if this sounds retarded I apologize)

I would never show anybody your site on this forum. I am not saying everyone is bad on here but anyone can not like what you say in a thread and simple xrumer you to death with a few clicks of a button to make your site disappear from rankings.

on another note have you set up your keywords on your website. Like using a plugin all in one or yoasts. This can help a lot. I havn't looked at your sight but just a suggestion. Google in the end determines keywords for you. I have many different terms that I didn't intend on ranking for with my sites.

based on google's keword tool "Synergy Check Services" doesn't get any searches. plus it doesn't hurt to get some extra traffic even if it's untargeted.

He's fine - no-one would negative SEO him unless they were a complete asshole, and karma would rape their mother if they did. Now, you are showing up because your word is considered close enough to that keyword. Don't stress about it - make the most of the free traffic; as it may not go away any time soon.

Thank you both for your quick replies. Our site is currently a PHP site (non-WordPress). I'm planning on creating a WordPress version soon tho, and in that I will be using either Yoast or Infinite SEO. I came across "stopwords" and was wondering if I created a text doc and added "synergy" to the list if that would help remove us from searches.

Lol, if it was so easy then I would fuck out any competing website and occupy SERP.

I'm not speaking about the OP's site but about the competitors websites.
E.g. You are #25 in SERP, so you want to be #1, following that strategy we are just to run Xrumer spam linking to our 24 competitors and we are in the top 1? Then why would everyone care about backlinks, about content, you just have to be indexed and be somewhere in top 100 and spam every other site above you?

Okay, so what we've decided to do is pull all the traffic into our site and give them a popup disclaimer (WordPress Popup) so we can keep the hits coming.

Thank you all for your help.:D

The lol is some people who think that performing some spam can kill a website in no time with few mouse clicks and are spreading those mythes on the forum.
