    Hello BHW

I recently got a micro niche site that started a week ago. 4 Days ago my website was ranking on 7th for its keyword. It was an EMD .net . When i woke up this morning and checked the ranked it has dropped to around 435. I have'nt done any SEO on it so i dont think poor backlinks would harm my website. Why would my website just dropped its rank so much all of a sudden?

if you dont describe the backlink profile, site age and so on i guess nobody would be able to help you out.

look up google sandbox, and if you used autoscrapers/auto content it will probably be there for quite some time.

BUT this is just what i've heard.
Please let us know when you find out!

I haven't used any backlinks yet! The site has only been completed on wordpress 1 week ago. It was ranked naturally to 7th in the first few days without me doing anything.

Throw some backlinks then. Make some high Quality web 2.0.
Do some high quality article submission. It should be back up in no time.

It ranked based solely on being fresh content.

Like above poster states, put up another article, add a few backlinks (some good bookomarks, web 2.0, a few manual comments)... after a few days you'll get your true rank.

OK thank you, i've read other things about SEO, where i should be regularly posting new articles for better ranking. I am still fairly new about SEO as i started learning about it a month ago. ( im only 17)

I recently bought a website with a PR1 domain (.org). It is an EMD of a keyword with 8,100 Global monthly searches(Exact) and 368,000 seraches(broad). I have checked it's page ranks and it isn't in the top 1000 for google but is ranked 30-40 for yahoo and bing. What should i do for SEO to help boost its rank for google?

Same thing happened to me going from page 1 5th position to not being on the first 60 pages. This happened in a matter of 2 days. Nothing was done to the website SEO wise, but it just happened. Some people call it the Google dance, but I took immediate action by adding more content to the site, tweaking keywords, and a few other things, and I was back on page 1 4th position, so take action and you will be fine.

It's the "new content" bonus ( not really an official term but that's what I call it and have heard others refer to it as that). Google does this a lot when new content is first published. It's fresh food for the spiders to come jumping & chumping at:whoo:...but then once all that new excitement wears off for them and they realize "hey...forget this! know ones even talkin about this sh%t!" then they kick your content to the curb and dump it deep down the ranks to the pits of search engine hell:sasmokin:. BUT...you don't have to stay there...to escape from the pits of the search engines what you need to do is create some excitement again (build backlinks, get some social signals buzzing around, and creating more great content to beef up your blog) and that's how you stand up to those mighty spiders and prove to them that your content is not just a joke - it's the real deal and it's here to stay! They'll lighten up and cut you some slack then.:target:

Its called a Honeymoon. Sometmes google does this. I have had a site debut at 6 in the rankings, it fell out of the top 1000 according to rank tracker, ten it popped back in at 8.

Sometimes a new site sort of gets a temp boost or something. I have seen this a few times with my sites since about aug last year.

When it has happened to me,they always pop back in, even if it takes a month or more.

Maybe this is what people refer to as being sandboxed, I do not know.

I have many more sites that did not behave this way when they were new.

Keep building quality backlinks from authority sites... for example: press release, authority blogs related to your niche
