I have a new site (about a month old) I have done no backlinking what so ever apart from one pintrest account (no photos yet), tumblr account (no content yet) and facebook (very little content) and 70 REAL likes.

When I first added my site to webmaster tools it sowed 26 urls submitted and only 1 url indexed!! :(. It was 24 urls indexed a few days ago.

So what's happened? Is it because I have no backlinks yet?

My site has 152 posts. Also showing 50 search enquires.

Try to resubmit your sitemap or build links to the sites, most likely your competiors have more power to their sites that yours just havent "made it" for google yet.

    Tony,

According to Google, it may be that your pages are not useful enough for its users. Without looking at your pages I have no idea if that is actually what is happening but there was a blog post written earlier this year on the topic of number of URLs submitted vs how many were actually indexed.

Perhaps you can find some more info here on it,

Mine showed zero pages indexed, not even the pages on the first page of search results are showing in webmaster tools so I don't think it's a content issue. I found a reference to it being a known issue on the google forums dated some time in 2010, nothing more recent.

I changed out the sitemap plug in I was using and that seems to have fixed the issue.
