webmaster tool: what does this data mean?

I'm using the webmaster tool to check some data. here is what I got:
103 queries, 550000 impressions, 35000 clicks

why 103 queries could have 550K impressions? anyone understand? I must misunderstand something.

103 unique search terms got you a total of 550k impressions. So if you're on page one for "elephants" and I search "elephants," you get 1 impression for 1 search term. But if another person searches "elephants," that's 2 impressions but still 1 search term...
