Decided to visit my wife's webmaster tools page today and was a bit frustrated that her top kw's are, in the following order:
    1. password
    2. email
    3. username
    4. sign
As you may have guessed, it is a membership site, and these words appear on the sidebar of almost every page so that regardless of where a visitor lands, they can sign up/log in. I'm wondering if there is a hack that will allow us to maintain these words, but rank better with our on-page SEO?

My idea is to insert kw's in the sidebar, but I'm not sure how to propagate these kw's across 100's of pages...I'm guessing there is a template lurking somewhere...I confess that we are better business people than we are programmers. Any ideas would be a great help.

About 6 months ago google changed those words from the ones myu sites been optimised for to some other frequently used, but not targeted by me, keywords. It has not made the slightest bit of difference and my sites grown at a steady 10-12% ever since. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.
