Do you have a nice portfolio? If not, I suggest you to start with this aspect. Build, even for free, some nice sites, and you'll shoot two rabbits with one bullet:
- You will have a portfolio to show to the future (potential) clients;
- Word-of-mouth is a very important thing, so you'll never know who will you be referred to by those old-"clients".
