Every site you go to... There is a banner...

I'm wondering.. What are the image laws on banners?
In a sense that... is there such thing that as an article.. Where "If you change enough, it becomes your own?"

... Anybody get what I'm trying to ask here?

    See my conern is...
Let's say I make it FOR somebody. Then the photographer of the photo goes on the site, and randomly bumps into his work and contacts the site owner. The site owner goes, "... Well I didn't make it. Blame the guy who made it" and points at me.

Proof? There will be a transaction.

+ Lets say I want to host the banner on my site as "Work That I have Done".. So then he goes right to me...

    http://www.20dollarbanner.com/portfolio

Like I doubt.. They actually PHOTOGRAPH the people and objects which are inside the banners OR.. Buy the images...

Too new to the internet to read the rules of the forums you join?

You posted about banners, a service you provide, linked to your site that tells more about your service, directly to your portfolio, and this isn't a pitch to drum up business? While not paying the fees for posting such?

This thread has a limited life expectancy anyway, so no worries, a staff member will fix this for you..

    Next time pay the fee.

You can use others banners, just make sure that you edit atlest 50% of the banner... and that will be all..

LOL! caretaker2007, I wish I had a business... I wish I can make money from what I do
But sadly... I made 0$ online.

I don't have a portfolio site, or a DIRECT bussiness. I am still not sure what I want to do.

But thanks for showing how much you care about me, and following my every post :)

I'll keep you updated if you miss a post or two made by me

See... I know that applies for the articles and stuff
"Just make sure its 50% unique, and your good bro! YOUR GOOOD"

... No clue if it applies to the images as well...

If the image is copyrighted they can have the site owner take it down, if they don't they can sue the site owner if they want to take it that far.

But in most cases they'll never find it if you take it.

How do I find out if the image is copyrighted or not?

    For example
    G()()gle->wheel
    http://images.google.ca/images?gbv=2&hl=en&q=wheel&btnG=Search+Images
How do I know if the first image is copyrighted or not?

And the site that I posted before the 20dollarbanner.com
They have 5000+ banners on that site

You think atleast ONE person couldn't find there own image? Hmm

Well.. For one it has © General Motors right under the picture.

If its original it may belong to them, these big money companies take their material serious, if you steal it they'll want royalties if they find out you're using it.

But they'll probably never find out, even if they do they'll just ask you to take it down.

    Case solved.

Okay, lets say.. I know this sounds silly but I hate taking risks with the law (long story)

But lets say for example a lawyer calls me up and asks me, "Are those images in the banner legally owned by you or not?"

    ...

In most cases they'll just ask you to take them down, if you do, nothing will come about.

Use them and worry about it later if you have to, if you don't want to take them, don't.. That simple.
