Im going to setup a few web 2.0 pages pointing to my main site to you scrapebox with. Is original content needed on these sites if im only using them for this purpose? or can I just cut and paste?

you can put copy/paste articles, but can't expect best results, google will not index your backlinks, as it would if they are unique.

why don't you spin those articles, you have so many options to do it for free:

-you can do it with on line free tool content professor, you'll get good uniqueness but not readable articles.

    put tt instead of xx

-or you can copy paste your text in google translate tool, change it several times through different languages and there you go, unique article

    ...
    good luck

yes you can do it with dupefree pro, just google it, also you can try with articlechecker, it's free and on line, but nothing is good like copyscape.
    why not copyscape?
