New site I've been blasting the last 24 hrs, is now almost into the scrapebox phase and I've noticed that for two major keywords I've done (one cycle each) a lot of the articles from wikia/wordpress, etc are ranked higher than my site.

Site is obviously getting link juice from it as the position increases during the blast and keeps trickling up after the blast, but some of the articles are still ranked higher (in the top 10 for a 100k search/mth keyword)
Is this normal for a new site?
I assume that with more blasts means more diluted links and the link juice will conglomerate better and usurp these positions, but yea curious nonetheless.

Also is on page optimization post Panda still 3% keyword density? Any other suggestions (or links to good suggestions by others) for on page SEO?

you should not optimize your web 2.0 sites as much as your money site. this has happened to me. pick related keywords for your web 2.0 but not the exact ones you want to target with your money site.

Exactly, don't make your web 2.0 sites with the same keywords that your money site in trying to rank for.

Well no sh*t, did not know this actually.

I was doing 3% density highly spun (100% unique in best spinner) articles with the keyword in them.

You still need at least 1-2 instances of the keyword to anchor the link right? or do you drop anchors entirely?

you can even build you web 2.0s targetting related keywords. Lets say you are going "car loans" web 2.0s car be about "low interest rate auto financing". Some people even make them just about "cars".

i have a few article directories and if you want to avoid ranking in the article directory then avoid the use of the exact keyword at all except as anchor in the link to your site.
Also do not use the exact keyword if you choose to backlink the articles in article directories/web 2.0's .

edit : use a unique anchor per direct backlink to your site if you want more then 1 backlink to your site from article directories
