I just got this message:

And I think we have all gone too far with the 24 hours rule. Not just for review copies but I have seen members here getting completely desperate if you don't answer their messages in a few hours and if they see you online they will loose their marbles completely. Specially in the shit list threads.
And then those entitled people that require instant replies are the first ones to come up with a million excuses for not delivering in time or ghosting you altogether.
So if you're a service provider or requesting review copies you're not able to take a weekend off ever in your life, you should sit in front of the computer answering to people forever every day of your life otherwise they will get inpatient and go crazy.
And god forbids you have left the bhw tab open on your browser and it opens itself next time you turn on the computer to do other stuff because even if you were online for a second, the site will show you your last login as recent and the Nancy Drew bhw detectives will deduce you were online the whole day but just didn't want to reply to their messages and will loose their temper because the world revolves around them and they should always be the first ones on your mind.
Wouldn't bhw be a far better place if we would all take a chill pill and understand the real world is not this digital marketing stuff, the real world is out there waiting for you, the valuable things in life are spending time outdoors, in nature, with your family and friends, with your pet, with yourself, eating mushrooms. No one ever spent their last days wishing they had spent more time arguing with stranger online.
24 hours is not a realistic timeframe for replies, 72 hours is. We want weekends, we deserve camping trips, we live in third world countries and sometimes the electricity or internet blackout for a few days, many of us have real jobs and things to do outside bhw and can't take this 24 or 48 hours rule anymore. We want our life back.
