From what ive read the general consensus is you always get banned on tumblr sooner or later doing adult.

Well if its the odd account every few months that would be acceptable but mass bans every couple of weeks wouldt be.

Ive been doing it for a couple weeks now and started to see some decent traffic but got about 4 bans/14 accounts so far.

So wondering what measures I can take to prevent it?

I wasnt trying not to before since I have just started and wanted to just get some acocunts up and judge from there.

I was following 200 a day posting 1 post per hour and always including link.

    What should I do different?

Im thinking maybe itll be better to watermark the pics rather than posting links? but if those watermarked pics get banned then id have to buy new domains woudlnt i as they might blacklist any accounts that show the watermarked pics? I hate having to buy new domains, feels so wasteful and can get expensive fast.

If you are following 200 every day, day in and day out, and always staying with the exact settings then your creating a footprint of a bot on the account. You need to find multiple safe settings and change them often. You should also take a look at what your posting to see if you can post engaging posts that will get lots of reblogs so you don't need to post as much or as often.

There are various ways of how not to be banned quickly, the fact is that all of us will get banned sooner or later if we promote our "money site", hardly anyone really could pass without the ban.

    So, for example ...
If you post 20 times per day something, look that at least 10 times to post just photo or photo gallery without any links, it is much better if you post 20 times, just 1 or 2 times add link to money site or whatever we promote.
If you post 20 times a day and each post has a link to your money site, quick ban should not surprised you.
We need to build Tumblr, if today we have 500 followers we think that if in one post we put our link, that's so little traffic, but imagine when we get to 5,000 or 10,000 or more followers?
One post a day to our money site will mean a lot, right?

In the NSFW niche the biggest bans are because people post images of underage girls. If somebody looks younger than 25 - don't post it :) Now if you post links, you'll get banned eventually but it's worth it, Tumblr is mainly a porn site and the traffic is good.

Knowing that you get bans when you are aggressive (links on every post) and leaving footprints (same settings each day on multiple accounts), would make me choose:
    A) safe approach with less to no chances of getting banned (although not sure about nsfw niche). Randomize settings every couple of days. Leave 1-2 days per week when you don't follow/like.
    B) aggressive approach. Spam it hard and always have back-up accounts. Expect the accounts to get banned.
    C) make 2 groups. 1 with the safe approach and 1 with the aggressive approach. Combining the 2 should give you the most, plus that you can use the aggressive group to promote your cleaner accounts.

Watermarks are a good addition, as even when the blog is banned, if the posts where reblogged people will still see the watermark.

Has Tumblr just been going on a huge banning spree lately? Seems like more and more people than ever before are talking about how their Tumblr accounts have been getting removed

    *EDIT
Interesting. So if my blog gets banned, the reblogs will still stay up... Never knew that.

As far as I am concerned, more and more people leave footprints or spam tumblr. That is the reason of bans.

Most people have yet to figured out how to to be a social media marketer, and a black-hat marketer at the same time, they use old methods that just receive bans because thous old methods are most appealing to them, even though they arrived to the game to late to use them, and are not staying at the forefront of new methodology.

Still new to the game here.. I don't use bots (yet) but here's my general strategy:

    - Sign up for new Tumblr account. Give it a logo, background, name, and headline.
    - Leave it alone for at least 3 days (preferably a week if possible.)
    - Find viral images in my niche and LIKE them (as a bookmark.) Repost a few of the best ones.
    - Follow 150 people every weekday. Don't follow people on the weekends (I've noticed I get poor followback on weekends so I just skip them also to make it seem natural and that I'm not following every single day.)
    - Once I get 100 or so followers, I start promoting my website on there.
    - I promote 1 link to my website (usually in the form of an image) everyday until I have about 4950 followers.
    - Once I reach that point, I only post out 1 promotional post every week.

I guess I'm not as hardcore but I do this with multiple accounts simultaneously. I've been doing this since about March this year and haven't gotten banned so far. If there are any red flags in my strategy, let me know.

Sounds good however I always like to push it to the limit and then reel it back in fomr tehre since you never know how much money/efficacy yourre leaivng on the table by not going hard and finding where the line is.

Though I dont always do it to the aboslute max. I think its a good philosophy.

I've never been banned (knocks on wood). I started 4 years ago, I started a sub-blog (nsfw) and used tags to slowly get followers. I didn't follow anybody. Eventually, based off tagging, I got enough followers that reblogged and that's how my following built up. I don't really tag my posts anymore, I just post content and users share their content. Between all blogs I have 80k followers.
