    howdy y'all

I have a youtube video of a famous song that gets like 10k views daily. It's copyrighted content, so not monetized with adsense.

Is there any other way to monetize this video? I tried inserting an amazon affiliate link in the description (Support the artist by buying the song here: ..", it didn't earn much though, and my amazon partner account got terminated for some reason.

I was thinking of adding a LinkShrink download link of the song in the description... not sure if that's a good idea or not.

    Any ideas?

Hmmm. That's interesting but it wouldn't work in my case. I have to keep the original music, otherwise it would defeat the purpose of the video.

Around 2010 I had a nice method going. I found new songs that were trending, and put them on youtube with a static picture of the artist. Since they were popular/trending, they were guaranteed to go viral.
In the annotations & description I put up links to get the song as a ringtone. It was just a ringtone cpa offer that paid a few bucks from Peerfly. This was before android/ios were so prevalent and advanced as they are now where you can easily make any custom ringtone in a few taps on your screen.
People were eating it up. I think it was my first $100+/day easy money that got me hooked on IM. Eventually that method died because people figured out how to get ringtones for free en masse.
I replaced the links with a clickbank offer in the 'make money online' niche. Did not do nearly as great, but it brung in some converts. Those vids are still up and still getting traffic.
Content locking the mp3 download may be a great idea. I've seen a lot of people doing that for full albums that just get released.
