Youtube identified my video as copyright protected even after I renamed and watermarked it. How do they do it? How do you tackle this problem?

    Thanks

audio part most probably, or manual report-review.

    Yep, audio, or your tags/description/title.

You can use an audio program to modify your audio signiture to get around their copyright bots. Just add some slight reverb and normalize the wave and then link it back up with the video. That should keep it off the radar screen.

they turned off the audio on some homemade girl on cam dancing video of mine because it was copyrighted so yes they can find you through the audio too what i have seen sometimes people too in the description just say you dont own the rights to the music and etc... maybe then they let you go.

lol, on how you put 'watermarked the video' but youtube still detected it as copyrighted

who told you watermarking a video makes it not copyrighted? do you know what the word copyright means or no just be honest.

I thinks what he or she meant was that the video was edited and re-rendered and that should have made it hash differently from the original.

So I listened to your advice and decided to see if it infact was the audio that was the problem.

I removed all of the audio and youtube still detected it. Any more ideas on how to solve this?

Their new software can spot video - not just audio.
Audio is easy, use audacity to alter the pitch by 1 semitone.
Video is different, their algorithm compares your video to the original.
It checks for movement - so adding watermarks, changing the length etc have no effect, they still know.
Don't know any way around this yet...but still trying lol

ps - i've even tried adding moving watermarks to try and fool the system but to no avail...
