Decided to start a journey and document my progress, i'm usually a lurker but ill try and be consistent in updating this thread. Hopefully some of the things i'm doing can be helpful to other people Goals Authority site making $500/month by January - i'll call this Project HUD 5 books published on Amazon by September. I aim to be selling 1-2 copies a day. 2nd authority site making $300/month by January - and this one is Project NEI Project HUD Basically my strategy is to attack low competition keywords in my niche. These keywords range from information topics to products. In addition to seo, i have a twitter presence for this website and I am also producing ebooks, branded under this websites name. I also maintain a presence on pinterest for traffic. Currently my site has 67 articles. I will continue to write at least 1 article per day. First ebook launched on amazon about 3 weeks ago. It sold 2 copies on the first two days, then i ran a free promotion which i think messed it up. I have been playing with the tags and categories to see if i can increase my sales rank. Second book is in progress now Seo strategy I've made a few mistakes on this website in terms of my approach to content. I attacked a bunch of keywords that were semi related, which caused my site to be low in relevancy. I've started to add new articles that support my existing articles and boost how my site is perceived. I think im seeing improvement since i started doing this. Some of the new articles added for relevancy, get more organic traffic & impressions than the old ones. As you can see in the picture, i have decent rankings for some keywords but these are low volume ones. I still would like to get in the top 5 for them, combined it's a nice amount of traffic. The high volume keywords im not in top 100 for! I am also making hand made web 2.0s - I have a assistant do this for me. Each site has 3 original articles, about us, contact us, content is interlinked and has images and videos. I put a max of two links back to my site on these. I just recently started with the web 2.0s and unfortunately non of them have indexed. I have been trying different indexing services and submitting to digg and reddit, but still no luck. I'll check back in a couple of days. I also edited 2 articles on wikipedia that now link back to my site. it's been more than 5 days for one and about 2 days for the other so i'm hoping they'll stick! I think there's lots of opportunity in this niche and i just have to find ways to attack it. I want to try things like ranking one of my amazon book pages for a keyword. Project NEI For this project i'm attacking a niche i've previously had success in. I think the competition for this keyword is beatable and easy enough to rank in a relatively short amount of time. keyword revealer says competition 45, which is more than i anticipated but i've already started so fuck it. I'm still deciding on the seo details but content has been completed. I created 1 high quality web 2.0 for this project. I'm going to let it get indexed first and send some quality links to it before linking it to my main site. I'm thinking i should go with some high pr links (something in the range of 15 links for $125) so i know they'll be quality and some strength to my main site, still trying to source out a good seller,, $125 is a bit steep for my budget and im not too sure how well/soon it will pay off. For now, im working on content for the main site of this project. web 2.0 is done and waiting for it to get indexed. looking for quality links to send to it now. So i think that's it for now. I'll try and update my progress ever day or 2. hopefully some of you will follow along and keep me motivated!
