I was watching the documentary Atomic Cafe and at 21:30 it shows some of the products people bought because they were paranoid.

I can't believe people fell for this shit, especially the Box the guy was getting into.:18:

People are always and will always be like that. If you are from the united states, Remember after 9/11?

I always like the "What price would you put on your family's health?" guilt trip marketing...

I remember how everyone was buying Pro America things and stuff. It only lasted for about 18 months it seemed. I was only like 10 when it happened so I couldn't make money off it.

You could not keep gas masks in stock.

I was thinking about starting a fake communist party in my area, and hyping it up some what. Then I am going to sell anti communist things. Americans are still paranoid as fuck about Russia, and the current NATO thing in Europe can cause them to become more paranoid.

I was a kid of 10-12 when the whole "Cuban Missile Crises" was going on. I remember seeing tanks, and other military goods going south on the train in our backyard.

People were buying Fall-Out shelters to put in their yards. All the adults were talking about the situation.

It was a scary time back in the 60's when all seemed to be Happy Days.

However I think between Kennedy and the Soviets it was a matter of "One was afraid to fight, and the other was glad of it". Very glad cool heads prevailed in that situation.

I want to visit Cuba, Damn shame I have to back door our government to do it....

The backdoor makes it seem more cooler to go.:D

The cold war? Not so long ago just about every government spent millions (I know mine did) on Tamiflu to prepare for the big bird flu pandemic and if that wasn't a big ass con,I don't know what it was.
