Hey guys, i havent been here for a while (making money online has been taking up too much of my time).

    Well. im here to today.

The last time i was here, i was looking for a system (software app) that can clean my 'very large' targeted email list of 100k... and as i searched here, i came accross a webbased service that 'can do it' for free.

all i had to do was just enter the .txt version off all of my list and they would sort them, clean them and kill/ delete all the duplicates so my list only contains valid unique email IDs only...

And the RESULT: these guys STOLE my list as soon as entered it and the barstads even went on to some how delete my email list .txt file from my USB hard drive:(

Naturally i was gutted. im sure you would too, if you where in my position... BUT thank goodness i had a back up copy somewhere else... EVEN better, the list name was CODED so these guys wont have a clue what to market to it because only I know EXACTLY what these people WANT. (and NO its not an adult/ewhoring list... its another 'hungry' niche.)

enough of this rant. i hope this post helps some one not make the same mistake i made.

    all the best

    John:)

actually listmate is, at least if you can find it here on BHW, don't believe it's on the DNS list, but try a search and see. But sorry that happened, I've used services like that LONG time back with good success, but now, it stay on my HD with listmate.

i feel for you mate but you didn't suspect anything?!

i'm sure there are other programs or scripts to do that which are not requering an internet connection at all (or you can shut it down manually) while working with them, so you are safe

why didn't you just open up your list in a spreadsheet, select all, then remove duplicates yourself?

You should sort such list with excel or open office calc next time. You can sort it for example alphabetical. I think it should be even possible to sort it per domain. By importing it as csv-data or simply by extracting domain with formula and sort then all after the domaincolumn.

    More attention next time...

    Greetings!
    Sebastian

unless you downloaded a virus from them. They can't just delete files from your USB drive. It is not doable mate.

    LOLZ...

Delete duplicates by using EditPlus or Dreamweaver (I believe it can do such too)
Check if the emails are valid by sending a blank email with a pixel-tracker in it. On some email hosts, they won't activate this pixel as they disable all images.
Next time don't use people as such..they just gained 100k free emails that they can now SPAM involuntarily and SELL to other spammers...They'll soon hit the niche you're selling whether it is herbal tea for longer life or S/M toys.

@OP, Good that you had a backup.

Sorry that happened to you, but as a player in this 'game' you have to respect their method of list building.
