    Hello All,

As mentioned in the title, I did a pretty big scrapebox blast on about 40k pages that I personally harvested. The pages came from about 1900 auto approve blogs. I just tried to see if my site was blocked by akismet, and I am not sure if google penalized my website because they saw a jump in links on 1000s of pages.

According to what everyone in the SEO community says, google will not penalize a site because of links. It has been about 24 hours and my site has gotten 0 traffic from google today, when it usually gets 200-300 visitors per day; and has been steadily increasing in the last 60 days.

If it is because of the blasting I did... I assume in theory I can do this to any of my competitors, I would never do that, and ruin their rankings. Currently my site only ranks in google for sitename.com, not site name or sitename. This is interesting.

I do not say much here, but I just wanted to warn other SB users to be careful, and also find out if anyone else has experienced this. Let us know.

Just wait and see, in the long run you won't get penalized because of the "sandbox" and will come up strong because of the amount of backlinks.

There is a scrapebox guide ebook that speaks about this (don't recall the name) and they did what you mentioned, blasted away competitions url in spammy manner, it dropped ranks for two week, but when came up was stronger than ever.

    So i wouldn't fear it.

Hahaha. Ok. Yes. This site is a few years old, and already had over 20k whitehat links, thus the reason I didn't mind blasting it. We will see, and I will look for that ebook. Has that happened to anyone else out there?

No man, check your serps or rankings in Google.

Since you got a bunch of new links, Google just needs some time to see where you rank as they will probably place you higher in serps now.

As for SB is concerned, I've done blasts of up to 1000000 and got over 60000 approved posts...

AND NO, my site was not sandboxed!!! 3:)

Also how many of those 40k links did SB say were successful in posting?

Also the number it says, is obviously not the right number since majority will not be approved and will be held in queue

well, i have done a huge blast of 20k too. my site still ranks for some keywords, but the ones I used for the blast my site went from position 8 to nowhere and the other one from pos 12 to nowhere.
this has been like that for 2 weeks now. any idea when those pages will reappear? how long could this last? is it google dance?

in the meantime i continued to build more links (high pr too), directory submission and posting new content as many ppl recommended to keep building links....

my site is 3,5 yrs old and had around 10k links already.

Well have you checked your serps? Are you positive your not in searches? Also is your site blackhat like some sort of gateway or something?

What's its pr after almost 4 years?

After the SEnuke trial and playing around trying to get as many links as i could one of my sites dropped from page 2 to page 8 and stayed there around 3-4 weeks.

So after a lot of reading on penaltys and the sandbox i decided to submit a reconsideration request in google webmaster tools and blagged them saying im very sorry etc and i payed someone to improve my rankings.

Anyway a day or two later i got a general reply from google telling basically nothing but low and behold another day or two later my site returned to where it was.

Google penalty or coinsidence, you decide.

The general school of thought is that you can blast your sites all you want with whatever you want and nothing negative can happen to them, only positive. Exception: xRumer, because it's so powerful and less popular.

If it was any other way, then SB would become sort of a tool you use on competitors only while you white hatted your site up in the rankings.

So you should probably submit your site map again and maybe do a reconsideration. If other people can continuously build links in the sandbox and come out higher, then why can't you?

I got my website Sandboxed HARD.

I blasted scrapebox with 100k urls .. got around 25k successful posts. Saw my backlinks increase from few hundred to 5k. I dropped in the results.

Everyone asked me to keep building.. I did so and I came back up for a day or two and had a total of 18k backlinks and again got dropped. This happend 3 more times and NOW I have 10k links and the site is nowhere to be seen :(

You were right! I just looked at my stats yesterday and saw the google sent me waaaay less than they normally do; but I didn't check for deeper rankings. Before the blast I had a ton of page 1 and page 2 rankings... now it seems all my rankings are 50+.

What is weird is pages that didn't rank for the KWs I blasted are now ranking, so lets just hope google will at least put my site back where it was for all the KWs I ranked for... and maybe they will be a bit stronger.

I made a list of about 230k urls from 1900 sites. Of those 230k, about 40k of them said posted... but I didn't go and check EXACTLY which pages posted a link for me. Again this list was for auto approve blogs, so I assume out of the 40k I got at least 10k links.

I blast my site with like 50k per day.

My sites get knocked on and off. They are usually quite strong in Yahoo and Bing.

I continue to climb the serps for a high competition high number ranking.

but if I blast that hard I know i'll be gone for a couple of days at least.

I'm in this for the long run...

This is good to hear. It is good to see that I don't have 0 rankings, and instead all of my current rankings have just dropped a ton. Maybe google is just re-evaluating my site. Thanks for the support everyone.

The best thing to do is to vary your anchor text and also auto spin your post or comment.

Google may give penalty to the keyword ranking of your over used anchor text. Instead other pages of your site will rise in rankings as a result of the blasts.

Best advise is start by blasting inner pages of your site and the slowly go to the main pages/ keywords of your site.
    Hope that helps.

As others have mentioned in this thread, you'll bounce back. This is simply the Google dance that is commonly associated with large new inbound links. I've had one of my sites jump on and off the front page for some time (give or take 2 or 3 months). Now it's back and solid on the first page and moving up ever so slowly.

People that say that you cant get penalized by spamming comment, are not very realistic. If you spam 10000's of pages on the web, google will detect that and send the site to a human team that is gonna verify your website and check if you are spamming or that those are legit backlinks. That's the way how it works, if you want to build a great site just build slowly and dont do anything stupid. I'm running a Apple blog that i have created 7 months ago, never used my xrumer or scrapebox and after a while it was ranking fine and making almost 3k a month. Just get good content, and stop wasting your time with lame ass autoblogs.

Try to coincide your large link building campaigns with the posting of new content on your blog at the same time, for example: 1 post the
day before, 2 posts the day you begin, 1 post the next day, etc..

Nobody can pinpoint google algorithms exactly, but from a common sense point of view this type of activity on a site ie. new postings
followed by large influx of backlinks, would fit the mold of a viral site or at least one that has recently posted very useful content that merits
a move up in the SERPS.

I've used this strategy on even 2 week old sites during large link campaigns and have yet to lose a main site to the 'sandbox' effect. Most
people focus so much on the links that they never take the time to put a bit of fresh content on their sites..
