long story short, i opened a few [100% legit] cases as a buyer, people wouldn't send items, would be SUPER rude to me, etc etc.

i wound up getting an automatic message to my email saying ive been warned for having a high volume of cases.

the email even stated that my account is currently NOT undergoing any changes, i am just being warned.

well, i call eBay to make sure, they assure me it was just an automated response, that no actions are being taken, and that if they DO, i will be notified of it.

I also had them check out my cases to double check that i have not broken any rules. everyone that's looked at my cases has agreed I've been on the up and up, I've just had the unfortunate luck of dealing with a string of bad sellers.

A week later I discover all the negative feedback i have -ever- left anyone has been removed.

after LOTS of phone calls for over a month, complete IDIOTS not giving me ANY answers, supervisors being dumber than the basic cust serv reps I originally talk to, getting hung up on because I become frustrated when they ramble complete jibberish (not only was it an obvious bullshit answer, it wasnt even fucking english. i had one guy say "uhmmmm" for about 2 minutes strait without a single word between them, no joke. Another [supervisor] literally NEVER told me anythign, said I need to manually locate each feedback that was removed (which i can no longer find besides remembering specifically what sellers i left negative feedback for) and appeal every case via an email. never told me where to email it, what happened so i know wtf im even appealing, etc) this is the final idea of what happened:

-i opened cases in over 1% of my auctions
-this automatically flagged me in ebay
-according to the last person worth remembering that i talked to, apparently if you get flagged you -have- to be dealt with in some way
-instead of banning me, they removed all negative feedback i ever left
-if i have the same situation occur, i risk being suspended or banned.

I basically got told "you did nothing wrong, you didn't receive your items or received damaged goods, requested resolution, if they were rude or didnt respond you opened a case as its your right to do so"..."BUT, you opened so many that we are going to punish you, even though you were in the right, your lucky you didn't get suspended"

when asking them wtf do i do in the instance that i have more bad sellers, as my only two options will be "take it as a loss and lose money for bad/no product OR report it as i SHOULD and risk being banned for opening too many cases despite being in the right" the answer was this:
"maybe you should open two accounts, one for buying and one for selling, that way if your buying account gets banned at least your seller account stays open"

    really? fucking REALLY?

What happened was the sellers complained to ebay and they won.

It seems you made it for well over 1% of your total auctions.

This reminds me of acouple douches returning sports equipment I was selling on ebay.

They did it soo much that a douchebay agent called me asking about it.

    Here's how the confersation went....

Douchebay agent: Were calling about the douches ( <--names withheld ).

    Me: ya, whatsup.

Douchebay agent: Did he return it?

Me: ya, and that fooking douche sent one back used. Its not the same one I sold!!!!

Douchebay agent: ok, we will check on it.

( short pause as I hear background noises of the douche agents changing their vinegar bags )

Me: ok, thanks, may the douchebag be with you! ( <--star wars reference )

( I quickly hang up and continue to consume large amounts of alcoholic beverages )

    True story bro! :D

wrong. all except for 1 case ive opened (i appologized as i was in the wrong) was completely won by me. sellers would not respond not only to me, but nor to ebay. i was simply marked automatically because i had to open so many cases due to shit sellers.

agreed. thats why this all started in the first place. my point is even though they were all LEGIT cases being opened, eBay only cares about the % of cases total regardless, and WILL punish you in some form regardless of you being completely in the right or wrong.

You have to remember that ebay is not a person. It has no brain or reason.
It's all just a bunch of computer algorithms and as you certainly understand a high percentage of cases will raise a flag in the system no matter if the cases are legit or not.

The best option with paypal is always having a backup plan, i.e. several accounts to work. You can never rely on one single account no matter how legit and well managed it is.

thats the entire thing that pissed me off, becuase thats -not- true, from ebays mouth directly.

they told me when you get auto-flagged, no action is taken. if you are auto flagged a second time, your account will go into review, where they will manually look at your records and see whats going on to make a decision.

first problem, i never got a second flag, the first flag was enough to warrant investigation. even though the automated email specifically stated -no changes were going to be made to my account, this is just a warning- that was not what the case wound up being. i was also told i would be NOTIFIED of any changes, again, never happened. i wouldnt have realized this if i hadnt been snooping through all my own information.

secondly, i was told specifically that they will manually review my case (after a second auto warning, which was a lie as previously mentioned) when i discovered what happened i found out they DID manually review my case, and decided to take action. i had -multiple- people look over my stuff, from basic support to supervisors, and all anyone could say was "you havent done anything wrong, but your still in trouble" literally every case has documented evidence of a buyer not paying, a seller not shipping, a seller shipping to the wrong fucking state, or a seller being a complete asshole. but that didnt matter, i've since made a friend from ebay and have found out the basics:

if you get a manual review, you -have- to be punished, it doesnt matter if your in the right or not. if you get a second review within x amount of time, you will be suspended or baned more than likely, no matter if (again) your in the right or wrong.

that concept is completely retarded, whats the point of manual review if your just going to auto-punish anyways. it's a waste of time and money on there part and just a fake security blanket for sellers

OP you probably need to check your self first. Your probably the type that expect a package to arrive on your doorstep 2 hours later you bought then leave negative feedback. You seem to get off on leaving neg feedback and thats why ebay erased them all, or if you dont get a replay back within 15 min you leave neg feedback.

I bout hundreds of stuff on ebay for years only had to leave bad feedback 2 times. Why is it that your leaving so much bad feedback?

well, you managed to bump a 3 year old thread, but:

Im going to assume you didn't read what i said. When this occured, all negatives i had ever left was because I never received the item, or it was broken upon arrival and the seller would argue refund. if I remember right, every negative I left (upon posting this thread) was due to item not received. As in I wait a week, no tracking, message the seller, no response for 3 days, open a case, they dont respond to case for 7 days, and bamo, refund.

I'm a very laid back guy when it comes to buying. I pay for my item immediately after purcahse, wait up to 3 business days, if no tracking info is up by then I message the buyer. If 3 days passes after that without a response, I open a case, as any smart ebayer would do.

considering you obviously didnt read, and managed to necro post a 3 year thread, I think you should "check your self first" before saying it to me.

Agreed. How is it that you encounter so many problems with different sellers and why not try working with the seller. If you are buying from sellers with good feedback, how does this keep happening to you?
