    Hi guys,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but could this thread please be moved if it isn't!

Yesterday I received a reply from a seller on a gig website who was complaining about my feedback on his gig (he provided a terrible service), I responded explaining why I left negative feedback and he told me he had now reported my site to Google as a scam site. My site is a survey locker for software (obviously this is illegal) so if Google checks out his complaint does anyone know if they will penalise my website or do they not get involved in issues with minor sites like mine? If they are likely to penalise does anyone know how soon I am likely to see this and will my site ever be able to rank well again? Sorry again if this is the wrong place in the forum, I greatly appreciate any help I receive :)

    Thank you!

Firstly report the seller on Gig site. Secondly, I never knew that google ever responds to such mails.

I didn't either until I googled it and saw that you can report for various things, although nothing specifying a site like mine. I'm just worried I'll be wasting my time, effort and money on the site if it's hit.

How high is the chance that google will read his mail probably nil, google receives plenty of those, google doesn't have the time to deal with them. If they did you competitors could bring you down faster then your site was going live

This is a matter of DMCA. All big companies take such report seriously.

lol, the guy must know that Google cares 0 percent about scam sites. They get serious only if the site owner is misguiding people into thinking that he is offering a product on behalf of Google. As for spam, Google doesn't care about its reports. I have experience with this. Even mass reporting doesn't do anything.

Evidence right from support page of Google:

Google doesn't do anything about spammy sites no matter how many times you report them. I reported a site whose owner copied my article and outranked me last year. 1 year later, his site is still on page 1.

i think only the "copyright holder" can report site and removed it from google.
