Want to sell on Ebay but I have to purchase at least $2X-worth of goods from Amazon?

From what I've read, I can build Ebay reputation by selling items at a loss. I listed scotch tape for $1 and there's a buyer but Amazon says I have to purchase around $2X-worth of goods. Is there a way around this?

Haha, what are you talking about man? Build your reputation (feedback) by selling items for a profit! Ebay screws its sellers enough with out you screwing yourself! Finding a profitable product to sell on ebay is going to take some time and research, try using Terapeak. Selling scotch tape at a loss is no way to start a successful journey into ebay in my opinion.

    Good Luck

Thanks for replying. So I find anything within my budget that sells? How much should it be selling for it to be worthwhile to list?

While in business its normal to make losses before getting a ROI, i'd suggest you take a different approach and sell unwanted items that you have, ask friends and family if they have any junk they don't want and put it on ebay.

Not sure where you live but if you have charity shops in your area go to them and find items that you think will sell, DvD's, CD's, toys, books, etc. You should be able to gain a good reputation and make a profit at the same time.

Do you have the same problem or are you being sarcastic? Does anyone want to critique my listings?

Hello, Hawkster's advice is right on! There is no reason to sell things on Ebay at a loss. The key to building a good reputation is to provide excellent customer service - ship quickly and communicate with the buyer about the status of the order.

Better to purchase 2K of Kratom, lol.

You don't need this. Just sell random stuff around home that you were going to throw away. Build your FB up that way.

Spot on advice right here from you and Hawkster as well.

OP needs to be a little more specific if you want more specific advice. Since you mentioned Amazon are you by chance trying to dropship from there to Ebay?

If so then that can be a completely different animal than simply selling and shipping items yourself. I hope this is not an account that you cannot stand to lose if thats the case.

As was said before sell stuff you dont need to help you get started. This will not only help to build your rep but will also help you to learn the ins and outs of how Ebay works. Such as their listing platform, shipping and most importantly fees. Both Ebay and Paypal.

    Good luck.

Thanks. Ya, I'm trying to dropship from Amazon to Ebay. I've used Terapeak so I'll see how it goes but I'm not sure about the specific details of the best strategy to use to start. I can sell stuff at home but the stuff would either be broken or very low-value and I'm not in the US so shipping can cost.

You can inflate your feedbacks up 100 positives in 2-3 weeks by buying $0.01 items such as photos, recipes, ebooks, digital products...
This only set you back by $1 instead of taking loss for every item sold. But this method does not boost your DSR only positive feedbacks.
