Hey there, I was browsing old websites and I decided that I wanted to take articles from an old domain and put them in a new website I am making.

I was thinking of 301 redirect and placing the articles on the new site, but when I went to visit the website, the forum subdirectory is full of spam, this month alone has been getting 1.5k visits per day.

I was thinking of doing what most shitty seo services here do, and start selling links/banner ads from my website. (1.5k visits per day, you wot mate?)

    Joke.

But is it safe to 301 redirect the website now?
I did a majesticseo search and it has 600 new domain backlinks from last 2 months alone, most of them are spammy tier 2/3 links.

Other option is take the site down and write the articles in the new website without redirecting, but I'm not sure if that will cause google penalization, what do you guys think?

    do a 301
the bad links wont effect your main site
and you can use the articles safely

    In fact
redirect each page to the new page on your site
    this is even better

Thank you man, does everyone think that redirecting wont affect due to the spam links done on subdomain?

Should I do a 301 domain + 301 each page that I am sending or just 301 the pages that I am sending?

I'm having problems redirecting inner pages to other inner pages.

I activated wild-card redirect on hostgator, but it still only redirects the homepage.

you should try .htaccess to do the 301 redirect, here is the code:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.old.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.new.com/$1 [L,R=301]
