    I know it really shouldn't be hard to convince someone about why this stuff is incredibly badass, but my brother is interested in JVing a membership site with me and I want to find something mainly to keep him motivated through the building process. He's an awesome writer and can do cool videos, plus he's perfect for the niche we're doing. So yeah, I want him to stick with it through the tough part so we can reap rewards.

    Can you guys remember any book/blog/forum thread/video/method that got your blood pumping and your brain pounding when you first started IM? Thanks!

    Any of those are usually just full of crap. As far as motivation goes.

    Have you seen Blow?

    Motivation should come from within.. if you need a book to motivate you, you will lose that motivation after a few months.

    How about an empty fridge..? That really got me racking my brains about how to make money at first.

    I recently read the 4 hour workweek and finished it within 2 days.. it was a good read to get me re-motivated again in the online/passive income/work smarter space, next step after reading the book - got my membership site up and running and now doing the beta testing for a launch in March. I would re-read it again in the future too... in fact, I feel like reading it right now.

    Another suggestion.. is he into Podcasts? There are quite a few great podcasts for entrepreneurs on iTunes..
    * entrepreneur on fire
    * lifestyle business podcast
    * umm.. tropical mba?
    * bright ideas
    * smart passive income.. and a lot more.

    I've subscribed to a lot of them (on the wrong computer right now which is why I can't remember the names of them off-hand) .. and am addicted to listening to them on my daily walk..or when I need a pick-me-up for getting "back to working on my sites".. if that's his 'cup of tea', any of those can keep him motivated from just being able to listen to those who are already successful tell you how they worked hard to get there, what wrong turns they made along the way, what they did to get back on track, what works for them now, etc. but that in the end - they found a formula and are now reaping the rewards, as well as what they are currently working on to grow their businesses each year.. . just tell him to do a search for "Entrepreneur" or even "Internet Marketing" on itunes (or stitcher) and you'll see hundreds of potentials.. suggest that he download one from each to see which one fits and then subscribe to the ones that you resonate most with.

    A few years ago I also had to motivate my brother to get into IM. It was enough to show him a few clickbank checks. Now he's making money online on his own.
