I saw a software for Permanent Delete Files. "Erased" is the software name. Its free.

Now problem is, i have deleted many files before. I also want them to be made unrecoverable. Please suggest me a free software or a cracked software.

I want to prevent Data Recovery in my system.

    Regards

    Scarer

im stuying on IT college and we went on a school trip to police department for computer crime

they told us that in order for data to not be recovered ever again you have to first delete data and then overwrite it with another data,

because when you just delete it, computer just marks it as available space, but when you put new data over it, old one gets permanently deleted...

or you can try some programs i guess but i dont know any

Stop downloading shady porn and you won't need any permanent deletion software.

Thing is... unless you destroy the hardware, or 'Zero Write' the HDD, any information can and will be recovered.

Only advise I'm ready to hand out is stop downloading child pr0n...

Multi-overwriting could do the thing. There are surely better tools for this. But you can try CCleaner.

    There choose: Tools->Drive Wiper
And in the Security box select: Very Complex Overwrite (35 passes).

This will make it pretty hard to recover the data.

    Go here, get this

    http://www.roadkil.net/program.php/P14/Disk%20Wipe

Set it to run and make 35 passes. (DOD standard wipe.)

If you have Windows XP use eraser 5.7. get it here:

    http://stupiddamncomputer.com/how_to_delete_and_erase_files.html

and set it for a dod wipe.

BTW. it takes hours to wipe a hard drive to dod specs.

Also, you can do the same thing by going to an auto salvage yard and have them pick the drive up with their big elecro-magnet for about 5 minutes. Flip and repeat. It will degauss the drive.

If you want to get rid of a drive, take 4 16 or 20 penny nails and drive them thru the drive platters, nail it to a board and throw this board away. A nail gun works great for this. I did this for a customer who was adamant that no one ever access his old business information. He thought it was great and still has the board in his office.

Also a acetylene torch will melt a drive real quickly, just don't breath the smoke. (A propane torch wont really get hot enough)

You can also disassemble the drive, pull out the platters, and use then like Chinese throwing stars. They also make nice wind chimes.

Or, you can take a large rare earth magnet and lay it in top f the drive while it is spinning. It must be a very strong magnet to work.

Actually, none of these work except the acetylene torch if who ever is trying to recover the data has an electron microscope, the proper skills and unlimited budget and time. In a year or two, they could rebuild a paragraph or two, but it is close enough for Government work.

    Just download CCleaner
    In Tools
    Drive Wiper
    Use Complex DOD 7 passes
    or
    Very Complex 35 passes

If anyone can read your hard drive then they are a billionaire

the only true way to completely delete your hard drive is by formatting it, not quick formatting truly formatting writing 101010101010101 to every line

Grab a hard drive wipe tool that does this boot your PC from this tool and then repeat 7 times, your hard drive will probably die soon so best to throw it away and get a new one, but you want that data gone right?

There is this inbuilt eraser inside windows which i think is somewhat classified to those who has windows certification, it was done via CMD and it was easy... dad showed it to me :) also it can be used maliciously via remote connection!

You are saying that you want to erase data permanently. same situation happens with me, and then a question arises that how to wipe data.
There is a software that helps me to wipe data. You need to download the file eraser software from the Remo software official web site .

    Best of luck

You can do erase all your data from the storage device so that no data recovery software can retrieve your data using a file shredder program.
Use "Kernel File shredder" software for erasing your data and files permanently from your hard drive.

Files has to be deleted permanently from hard drive in order to secure your data. Using third part software, you can easily erase files / folders beyond recovery. Remo File Shredder is an powerful tool that can shred your confidential files / folders permanently. Just select the data you wish to shred, select your shred standard and the data is gone forever.

You need permanent deletion software anytime you sell your computer, anytime you trade out a hard drive, and if you download music or (ahem) material from some download section of a popular forum where you might be downloading copyrighted material that you did not exactly purchase.

The program I use is called eraser, I am not an affiliate, just a user.

and if you set it for a DOD wipe it will replace the data on the drive with random characters and make 35 passes. S tart it at night, and sleep in until it finishes its run. It even wipes cluster tips.

You casn also sele4ct any file, right click and wipe individual files.

This is a secure Department of Defense grade wipe and recovery under these circumstances will be almost non existent, even for law enforcement.

Bear in mind anyone with a hard on for you, an electron microscope, and a few years time may be ale to pull off a few words or images, but you are generally talking nat sec stuff before someone would use those resources on your drive.

If you have win XP, use eraser 57, other windows, use 6.x.x

You need to learn the difference between the words "delete", "erase" and "wipe".
