I hear the phrase being thrown around all the time, your success is determined by the company you keep. If you surround yourself with successful people, you will become a success. If you surround yourself with losers, guess what... you will become a loser. Pick up the pace and put your plans to action, you have great ideas now put them to work!

I found this article helpful for giving you an idea of what company to keep around. There's a reason why people end up slaving for the man or becoming wealthy.

And if my oldest and dearest friend is in misery, what should i do, turn the back on him and move on with my successful live? That's BS. When you have some sort of success and thats brings you money, my opinion is to give something back because, we all know, there is a low of attraction, you give something, you get 10X more in return.

I agree with you, but if you prioritize your friend in misery over your own actions you will eventually be following his path instead of your own. Take what I said into consideration, after you've become successful you can help others accordingly.

Not getting into the pros and cons of the OP rubric, but this is valid...

Never kick folks on the way up because when you fall they will kick you harder on the way down...

business 101 is having a comfortable network of business people you can turn to for advice. This is easier done as a two way thing.

I think the ethos really is to broaden your horizons - if you don't mix with successful people at all, you won't even know what you are aspiring to. That doesn't mean you should ditch all your other friends.
