I always see those kgb ads so I went to kgb*com and clicked try it, it takes you to 542542*com which has a text box where you can ask them a question and get an answer to your cell, and a .99 charge.

Whats to stop anyone from putting a random phone number in their?

this was probably the first thought that came to their minds, thats why you have to send the text from that phone....it doesn't work like that.

"it takes you to 542542*com which has a text box where you can ask them a question and get an answer to your cell, and a .99 charge."

    Nothing...

Someone burned me for $600 on a website a while back....I still have his cell # too.

I was thinking about signing it up on a few Cell Phone type CPA offers since usually all ya gotta do is enter your # on there and they start charging.

Hope that's not too evil for anyone...but this guy knew I was in a hurting position when he burned me...he has just ignored my emails, calls, and even attempts made by a mutual friend on this forum to find out what was going on.

If anyone deserves it...it's this guy.

Usually they need to confirm the sms received by sending another SMS back. Anything else is illegal when they start charging - doesn't mean some companies don't since your bill appears a while later and you think W T F as a consumer
