I clicked the 1st link to have a read.

Saw it was an attention seeking, self-obsessed, self-centred narcissist, regurgitating the latest books he has read as his own miraculous revelations - because as usual he thinks nobody else is capable of understanding those books unless he explains it to them.

I then noticed your enlightening quote was from a plastic puppet in a science fiction movie from the 70s

After giving it some thought I concluded that Yoda is more credible than Russell Brand

I dont want to spark a debate,

but, it's one of those reads that don't sell you anything but inspiration.
They tell you that you don't need anyone for anything, you can make it on your own,
they tell you that society is sheep, and be a wolf.

I didnt read it, but i've read enough to know it's probably one of these.
Idk if it's part of anything he posted, but since this post provides no value with that statement,
i'll add one that does offer value, even if it's not entirely relevant.

    SHOW ME THE PROOF.

500 years of pseudo-science and no one still has any evidence of this airy fairy nonsense.

psuedo-science is how people get ripped,
consistently ( as in, every ~ 1 / 4 for example, OR, not with "luck") turn girls who are strangers into something other than that, study effectively,...

it's not entirely bs just because it cant be "proven". wow why am i still on this thread, later

Why do people comment on something they haven't given a chance to or review over before making assumptions. Honestly.

I am a great admirer of Russell Brand and I don't think he is saying shit like telekinesis is anything but illusions. I agree with allot of things he says, and I agree that humans are capable of allot more than we often thing, but those things must be proven under scientific settings. Good on him if that shit works, but by no means does anyone have the right to start spreading gobbly goop as truth without proof.

How can one prove "things" under scientific settings when Russell Brand, in the video, stated that we are limited to only our five senses, how can we really know of other means of solving or proving with the limitations of our perceptions? Just a thought.

As for the title of my thread, Illusion of Ordinary Life, that would deal with the second link more so.

I wish people would actually read or take the time to view what I posted rather than hash.

I hate proving people wrong nowadays. I just keep my opinions to myself, however I perceive life to be is my thoughts and mine only.

Firstly, Russell Brand is not an authority on reality. He has some good things to say but he will be the first one to admit they are opinions.

Secondly, if you can't prove it under scientific settings, how can you go around preaching it as truth?

So we need scientific proof for things to be true? Tell me friend, where did science come from? Mans push for knowledge and the curiosity to question life as it exists. Only with what we know to be true, using our senses combined with intellect, we have acquired the means to understand "things" at best. Yet we reject everything that doesn't coexist with our current perceptions as you can't prove something you cannot see, touch, feel, hear, taste...right?

My point is relevant to the second link complimented with what Mr. Russell proposes, there is so much we do not know and to grasp the next new dimension of intellect it's time to upgrade our perception of things and realize there is much more to the surface. That there are things we cannot fully understand because we have not yet attained the awareness to do so. Because we have been limited in our teachings and our thoughts and shy away from what seems impossible.

Not bad for typing on the iPhone :)

Yes we do. And science was born out of the desire to find the truth about things.

    Here is how science works:

We observe phenomena we don't understand
We want to discover the truth about those phenomena.
We come up with various theories
We then use scientific method and experiment to test those theories
We use that methodology to work out which theory is correct
We then have that theory tested by the wider scientific community
After extensive experimentation, testing, replication and peer-reviews we find out for sure if that is indeed the correct answer

    Here is how quackery works:

We observe phenomena we don't understand
We want the truth about those phenomena to be magic/mind control/aliens/or anything else we yearn for.
We come up with ONE theory that we WANT the answer
We don't use any scientific method to test that theory
We ignore any scientific method that disproves that theory
We shout and scream and rage at anyone who dares question our disproven theory

Here are some of the benefits of the scientific method:

    We cure cure horrible diseases
    We save millions of lives
We have electricity, computers, the internet, telephones etc.
We don't die when we scratch ourselves
We travel to faraway destinations in planes

Here are some of the negatives of quackery:

Burning innocent people at the stake as witches
Children dying because parents believe they should not be immunised
Cancer patients making faith healers wealthy as they die a slow, lingering death
Vulnerable people being rinsed dry by cults

Science and the scientific method is the thing that has created the world around you.

Every pill you have taken, every doctor, dentist or hospital visit, every time you use a computer, every time you watch TV, make a phone call, drive your car....

    ..that's science.

You're missing my point. I'm not saying that just because science doesn't yet understand it, doesn't make it false. I am saying that sperting shit out of your mouth that hasn't been proven as truth is dangerous.

I worked in the health food industry for a while and it was a wash with hippie bullshit. People love to take an extremely complex thing, like the human body, and try to explain it in a simply way so that people stupid enough to not question it's legitimacy will understand.

Also, I find the arguments for these types of phenomena really funny. Some are arguing that there is allot of proof, but never willing to lead you to it. Then others are saying we can't prove it because we don't yet have a means. I mean at least get your falsities together like other organisations built around bullshit. I'm not going to name such organisations.
