I have been having issues with my web host taking all my websites down for the past few weeks, so I've been needing a solution to reduce the CPU usage for my WordPress websites.

I've been researching about a solution with caching since I've never implemented caching before.

W3 Total Cache has been the top contender cache plugin people keep talking about, but then I also hear "Hyper Cache+DB Cache Reloaded Fix+WP Minify" is BETTER than W3 Total Cache.

...But now people say the most recent W3 Total Cache plugin with its "minify" and "database cache" enabled beats "Hyper Cache+DB Cache Reloaded Fix+WP Minify" combined.

Which is better now? What's your experience with this?

(Also, I searched for the "DB Cache Reloaded" plugin that people recommended and 2 came up....1 "DB Cache Reloaded" and 1 "DB Cache Reloaded Fix". Which one was it recommended? Would have been easier if the author of the plugin was also mentioned. Same thing for "Minify"...is it the "WP Minify" or "Minify" plugin that was what everybody's suggesting?)

    Thanks for any clarification.

    Jason H,

Many of these are great plugins but the one you get may depend on what your host supports in terms of caching and compression. Sometimes plugins can conflict with your server's configuration or with other files on your server like .htaccess. Here is a great overview of a lot of the plugins you mentioned. Hopefully it will give you a better idea of what to get.

    Hope that helps,

I use W3 total cache in conjunction with CDN from maxcdn. It was a pain to get it configured so it wouldn't conflict with my most important plugin (s2member), but now my site is rock solid and super fast. With any of these just be careful of conflicts with other plugins....test everything before you go live.
