    Should I go with Windows 7 VPS or Windows 2008. I think 2008 will probably eat less resources. I only get 2gb ram...I'm afraid if I go with Windows 7 it would be much slower.

    What's been your experience? Thinking of using berman hosting if that matters.

    The right choice in my opinion will be windows server 2008. Most of the seo software are build close to this kernel.
    On all my VPS I use windows server 2008

    Thanks. I'm using win2008 server now and it has been good. I'm just worried it's getting a bit outdated. I didn't realize the Windows 7 option for a vps was not a Windows 7 server. Just the corporate edition I guess? Less stable from my experience.

    I forget all the windows stuff, been awhile since I mostly use linux + mac the past 5 years.

    Go for Windows 2008 because Win7 uses too much resources and may slow down you in the long run.
    To be honest, I haven't seen a VPS provider that offers Win7 as an option.

    If you want to run server based services definetly go for the Windows Server 2008.
    Windows 7 uses to many resources and I honetsly wouldn't host this if I were a provider.

    Windows 2008 is consuming something like 380MB of RAM at start up. Windows 7 is more like 500-600MB

    I'd never have problem running all SEO tools from windows 2008, in my VPS server. Give it a try.

    Thanks I'm using win2008 server now. I guess I'll stick to it. I do however don't like how the RDP window is only like 800x600.

    Go with Windows Server because it will be consuming a lot less resources than windows 7.

    Before you actually connect to your VPS;

    Click Options to expand the options tabs
    Select the display tab and choose the desired resolution and color depth
    Click Connect

    Sorted :)

Currently i'm using a VPS from https://bermanhosting.com/aff.php?aff=456 for over 3 months i think. And i choose a win 7 as my OS. From my experience. it's slow and keep hang . i don't run many SEO tools. and now i decided to change my OS to win 2008.
