So I have a VPS and I was thinking of getting another to upscale, I was wondering if I should purchase a netbook or a second monitor for productivity to connect in to the vps.

My current computer is about 2.4 ghz 4 gig ddr ram radeon good video card. I use the vps to host and use alot of my tools, getting a netbook vs getting a monitor is not a significant price difference.

What is the setup you guys use and find most convenient.

    Thanks!

Go with a netbook. Way more usability compared to just a monitor. Which monitor/netbook were you looking at?

Get a second monitor. That way, you can use the same keyboard and mouse. Also, by getting a second monitor which is the same size as your primary, it will be a lot easier to look at them both rather then glancing down at the netbook when needed. The only benefit to having the netbook is that it would be portable.

I was looking at getting the AOC E1649FWU 15.6" USB Monitor. It Is ultra portable so it gives me the portability benefit too, hmm and I didn't even consider the second mouse problem.

An Issue I was scared of was accessing the vps with the same computer maybe taking up a lot of resources not sure how much it will drain.

*I currently use a 17" acer laptop as a desktop replacement

Thanks everyone, I bought a 2nd monitor the one that uses a usb port for power (I do a lot of travel and would love to take it with me). Amazing how useful it is for multitasking!

Couldent upgrade to 8gigs ram laptop is maxed out at 4 gigs, ill upgrade the laptop next year for now this laptop works flawlessly for the tasks I use it for.
