    hey guys, lets say I want to run multiple instances of my sikuli script (let's say 5). Would I need 5 different vps's or just one? How does it work? (Sikuli takes up the whole computer you can't run it in the background or run multiple instances at once on the same desktop)

    thank you

    In that case you need 5 different VPS.

    As sikuli depends on the screen, you'd need more VPS to accomplish that.

    OR you can hire a programmer to automate the things you're doing, then use it on a single VPS.

    With a vps you're not allowed to open 5 different windows (as long as you're within the ram requirements)? Would this be cheaper on a vm if you're computer has enough ram? there is no way to do it on a vps?

    thanks guys

    well you can do that one 1 vps but for that you need a very good vps like 16gb RAM i7processor and 50-100gb hdd and then use virtual machine for every script.

    You can't virtualize in a already virtualized environment.

    @OP the Solution is either to go for a dedicated where you set up as many VPS you please or you go for 5 cheap windows VPS.

    or you can have many admin users on the same VPS and use that instead. I never used sikuli.. But to run multiple instances of one application i do this. it works for most of the apps

    The last 2 are brilliant answers but they negate each other :/ lol. So if I have 5 admin accounts I can open 5 windows on the same computer to run all 5 instances of sikuli?

    You could create multiple admin users on the same VPS computer, but:
    1. If you wanted to run them at the same time, you'd have to keep logging out as one user and in as another, and;
    2. I'm not sure how the licensing of the installed software would work

    Easiest way (I can think of) if you wanted to run the software simultaneously is:
    1. Buy a dedi and create 5 virtual machines on it, or;
    2. Buy 5 VPS's.

    (EDIT: Just read Hostage's post, which I agree with).

    Ah, it's this thread. Myself and blablabla have been pm'ing about this and here's what I've learned trying to help him out, incase anyone else ventures upon this thread looking for a similar answer:

    From what I've seen Windows 2008 will as standard only accept two RDP connections simultaneously. It is possible to increase this by activating the Remote Desktop Session Hosts Role and increasing the number of allowed connections. But without purchasing more licenses (CALs) you're then limited to 120 days on each session over the two allowed before having to buy more CALS.

    I'm sure I've seen a way around this though but can't find where. If anyone can think of a way to overcome this on one VPS (for free) then please let me know too as I could also see a use for this.

    thanks for the replies everyone. me and poo have been pm'ing and he's logged into the same vps with 5 different desktops simultaneously so i guess it is possible! just going to keep searching because i'd rather invest in a powerful vps than a DS or multiple vps's for obvious budget reasons
