So I had my website on a VPS hosting from a member here, unfortunately I didn't get billed and so it went down and for some reason I'm not getting any replies from the seller, so now the site is down, I can't make a backup with wp plugins and I don't have a backup because I don't have access to the VPS, the truth is that the VPS was pretty good, amazing load speed and all but how can I change hostings now if I don't have a backup?

I think I have a 4 week old backup but there's a LOT of content and things that I changed... what should I do?

Get a new VPS and put the old backup and then start with new content, thats the only thing you can really do.

You can change hosting but without backup, I doubt you could make it easy.

yeah you should get a new vps and install what you have at first and try your luck with google catche or web.archive Wayback Machine - Internet Archive. And yeah dont forget to do daily backup from next time :)

Unfortunately, you must start it from point where you have a backup. And don't forget to make backups on new VPS. You can use dropbox or google drive for it.

Don't wait for this to resolve if once happened it can happen again. Find a new VPS upload your 4 week old backup and in the meantime try and contact the member/seller to get your files back.

If the seller don't respond to you or says not you have two options:
    1. Ignore
    2. Open a BS threat as is not your fault that you where turn off without any notice.

Happened to me once too. I think something like this happens to everyone eventually and then they learn to make daily or at least weekly backups. If you are unable to contact the seller then there isn't much that you can do.

As of now, I suggest you to go for new VPS hosting provider and use the old back up content. Also, open a ticket to your old web-hosting provider and explain the issue. In order to avoid this in future always take the backup of your server periodically.

if your vps is down and you cannot get the latest backup, you only option is to move on to a new server. you should always keep regular backups for your websites on your server. I have faced similar situation in past. I would suggest you to either take regular backups manually of use some php scripts like backup to dropbox etc.
